Andrea can funnel with his size and lateral quickness as well as anyone on the team. Lately he's been covering area quicker than anyone in the defensive end, he's not as slow as many are making him out to be. As far as playing the 3 like someone said it's only for a few minutes a game and the way Andrea plays anyways it's all interchangeable, he's not really a traditional 3,4,or 5. He's just a basketball player. He really believes the only thing holding him back is minutes, he even said it doesn't matter to him what position he plays. Having 3 bigs on our court at the same time suits our defensive philosophy to a T, there's one more big to guard baseline when the other teams starting 3, penetrates and tries to get a shot off in the paint.

Have you noticed how many open jumpers opposing teams have on us?

And the fact that basically whenever Bargnani plays the 3 he gets into foul trouble.

We agreed that Bargnani is out 5 of the future?

Did I miss a meeting or something?

IMO on a team looking to make the jump to the next level he is still a PF and not a center.

I don't think we've agreed he's the center of the future, at least I haven't.

I'm just saying he's better off playing in a position where he isn't expected to guard the opposing team's Small Forward because he gets burned so easily and gets into foul trouble. When he is defending the post he has at least learned how to adequately do it without venturing to the bench because of foul trouble.

I think we agreed he was not a 5 when he wasn't playing like one. But have you been watching the last 10 games?
I think He can be a very effective 5, though he'd be better suited if he were paired with a traditional PF like boozer.
Most teams in the NBA don't have allstars at both the 4 and 5.
If we had Nocioni, he would make up for Bargs rebounding def.
Though Bargs is looking pretty solid tonight.
31 and 10!!!

No. If Bargnani is the future starting C for the Raptors, he needs to continue on the same path - you can't screw with the head of a kid who we've seen go into devastating slumps due to his own confusion about his role.

O'Neal needs to be traded assuming there's at least a respectable package offered for him. If Bargnani is in fact for real, it'll soon make very little sense to keep O'Neal on the roster - backup C's don't make $21 mill a year.

He's 7 feet tall and 250 pounds! He might play like a PF sometimes but he is DEFINITELY NOT a PF.

"Should Bargnani Go Back To The 3 Again?"

Well it totally destroyed his confidence last time, and sent the team into a downward spiral...and he proved he can't stay on the floor if he has to guard 3's...plus he has been excelling at the five....yeah sure, why not.
