Default Brandon Jacobs to ask for a trade

http://www.sbnation.com/2010/9/20/16...iest-giants-rb

Quote:
Sep 20, 2010 - Things aren't going so well for Giants RB Brandon Jacobs. He lashed out at a reporter last week asking, "You think I'm stupid?" This week, he "accidentally" tossed his helmet into the stands.

Now his week will probably get worse. According to Vinny DiTrani of the Bergen Record, Jacobs "will meet with Giants management today and ask to be traded."

It seems like a good idea until you realize Jacobs has little, if any, trade value. Running backs in general aren't very valuable because of their short shelf-life and that's particularly true with a hard runner like Jacobs. It also doesn't help that he's reportedly lashed out at reporters two weeks in a row.

I love Jacobs style, but not many are going to be lining up to trade for a 28 year old bruiser. Giants should drop him so Philly can have him as their goal line guy.

it was pretty funny watching him try to bounce it outside vs the colts like he thinks he is bradshaw or something.

He is done as a RB. Big running backs like him have a very short shelf life. See Christian Okoye.

He's an idiot if he think another team will give him an expanded role. He would probably get even less burn on someone elses team.

He's taking the Rudi Johnson route.

Pound the sh!t outta everyone for a few years, fade fast, and be done by 30 years old

Rudi had like three really good years though. Jacobs has been overhyped for a while and really only had one of those years. He was pretty good when he was splitting carries though.

I'd put Ryan Grant in that Rudi Johnson comparison.

Good. More touches for Bradshaw, who's on one of my fantasy teams.

The Giants should just turn him into the starting fullback, who would occasionally play running back. That sounds like a good role for him. This guy isn't Earl Campbell.

The Giants are going to get even worse value for him now because he is such a locker room disturbance.

He's not going anywhere this year. They may cut him next year since he is due to make so much money, which he clearly is no longer worth.

Yeah I can't see many teams taking a lot of interest in him.

No way, keep him as far away from Green Bay as possible. Jacobs doesn't understand his strengths. He is always trying to bounce it to the outside when he should just be running north and south, then he loses yards or barely makes it back to the LOS. I think he is done.
