Jags?

why not the Jags? they have nobody at WR and are a legit SB contender.

Dallas I wish...we have the worst WR core in the NFL

I think the Browns

He was offered a contract from Baltimore and turned it down.

Him, Maclin, Bell, countless others...all listening to bad advice from their agents IMO. There isn't enough time in these guys youth to waste holding out for more money.

CLE finally tapped out, eh?

I wonder what the final hurrah was. I mean, they waited for him to show up all through camp and gave him that. He caught a big TD, now he's gone??

Maybe something else happened, another test or something.

It's sad. The guy has elite, generational athletic skills but also some elite issues and demons

the fact that the cowboys havent re-signed him speaks volumes. the boys are possibly the worst in the league at receiver, they have plenty of cap space, and they know dez better than anybody... yet they seem to have absolutely zero interest in rostering him. i am guessing his nfl career is done.

hes the NFL equivalent of dwight howard - athletic beast who never bothered to develop any technical skills and creates way too much drama.

I don't think he would resign in Dallas. If a team disrespects you, pride won't allow you to come crawling back for league minimum. The Ravens gave him an offer, Dez was either looking for more money or looking to boost his stock as a one year rental. If he has a good season with Cleveland or new England his career isn't done yet.

Dez was hanging out with Jerry Jones in his luxury box for a concert in cowboys stadium a few days ago, I dont think he feels disrespected. Anyway as far as I've heard the cowboys have seemingly shown zero interest in Dez, not even at the league minimum... and its not like this was ever a money issue anyway, the cowboys have like 12m of empty space right now.

Is Dez even in NFL shape right now? If he was signed today I seriously doubt he would be ready to play for a couple weeks.

I think Dez was cut for a number of reasons...money, the walmart parking lot thing, etc

But I do think the MAIN reason is that he was just a bad WR last season...he had numerous drops, and he had trouble getting separation.

To be fair, Dez has never been the type of WR that ever needed separation, he is the type you loft the football to and he'll go up and get it even if a CB is locked on him. He out muscles the defender...Dez is basically like Dennis Rodman, he gets the rebound. But when you're always dropping it? Not good.

exactly. he has always relied on his physicality and hes just not athletic enough to be carried by that alone anymore.

back in dez's heyday he was able to man handle almost anyone who tried to cover him, but last season he was regularly getting jammed up and disrupted coming off the line of scrimmage, and he wasnt able to outmuscle defenders for jump balls like he used to.

i think we actually had this exact conversation last season

Dez said and tweeted several negative things about his former teammates after he was cut, which pretty much precludes him going back to the Cowboys at any price. He's still a free agent because the rest of the NFL figured out how to defend him. He doesn't run good routes, he's not fast enough or shifty enough to get separation. He relies on his strength to overpower the defender. You don't have to guard Dez with your best defensive back, you can just put a big, physical DB on him and pretty much neutralize him.
