Hmm.. Barkley was better. But not by that much. Its close.

And Garnett is vastly better defender. The ring doesn't matter too much but the defense was far and away better.

But you are right, on offense Barkley was easily better and more versatile.

Anyone who think Prime Garnett could wax Prime Barkley, must've never saw Prime Barkley play an entire PLAYOFF SERIES. Folks are quick to forget that Garnett got bounced out of the first round EVERY year except one with Minny. Garnett got swept by Dirk, guarding Dirk the netire series, and Dirk avergaed 36 and 16 ON KG.....how's that for great defense? Plus, Garnett was pretty much anorexic his entire career....Barkley would physically dominate Garnett.

Garnett was easily the better passer between the two. Barkley was no slouch in that area but to call him a better passer than Garnett is absurd.
