If Melo would've had a ring with Det it would be as meaningful as Darko's. If they indeed featured him they wouldn't have won. They might not even have traded for Sheed in that scenario.
Also the Pistons not taking Darko would have changed the NBA's landscape up until atleast 2014 if not longer. Wade should be very thankful.

True that. Melo can't even propel the nuggets past the conference finals during his entire tenure with the said team while darko got one during his rookie year, thanks to the efforts of his more prominent teammates.
