Because they are America's team. They have bandwagon fans in every city. Just like the cowboys except the Lakers have actually won recently.

Thats not what I meant I had poor sentence structure. The point I meant was regardless of success (The Lakers have had much much more obviously) they get covered more because they're glamour teams. Fair? The Lakers sucking isn't giving more media time to the Warriors for instance in the seem way the Cowboys get covered more than teams with significantly better records.
