Kobe isn't simply on a hot streak. Anybody who's watching the games can see that. His shot selection has improved and once Nash gets back he'll get way more open looks. I can see him staying above 50% for the rest of the season.

Meh. Its going to be just like the last few Kobe seasons. He starts off on fire and than starts throwing up the 11-33, 10-27, type games.

That's a myth. He was shooting 43% through 8 games last year

He had those types of games last year because he was carrying the offense on his back and had to take a shitload of tough bailout shots. Now he has Nash to set him up.

I like how Kobe is ever-developing. Get better, get better everyday. Even if it's the 17th season of playing professionally.

Not necessarily better shot selection, just more spacing and more opportunity to get better shots. Kobe has never averaged better than 47% his entire career, however with this type of team I'm sure he will be able to do that. There is nothing amazing here, no sudden improvement, just that he has more opportunity to score more proficiently than he ever has before.

First of all, Kobe wasn't carrying the offense, he had bynum and gasol helping him out. Kobe jacks up ill-advised shots on his own free will, many of them arent because he has to shoot them, he just simply plays selfish at times.

Well, that in turn is also better shot selection.

He's getting more of his shots at the rim this year rather than settling for a mid-range jump shot or a forced one from last year.

Is it not embarrassing that it took Kobe 17 years to improve his shot selection?

Hmm, I see what you mean, but where do you draw the line between shot selection and being more open closer to the basket? Is it really shot selection or is it that he has more spacing to do what he likes.

Both will fade pretty soon, I'm thinking Kobe's streak will come a halt against Memphis.

i think its more embarrassing that kobe took bad shots from all angles of the floor with multiple defenders in his face and won 5 nba championships while doing it...carving out a legacy that only a handful of guys can even compare to

kobes mentality = why juggle with 2 hands when you can do it with 1 arm tied behind your back blindfold

the only reason kobes taking easier looks now in his 17th season is because he has nothing left to prove. we all already know he can win any way he chooses.
