True that Tony parker has Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, but you say it as if he can't get to the lane at will without any of those guys. He's one of the quickest guards in the league with the ball, and he could shoot. Every time he shoots it goes in, but Greg Pop doesn't give him that green light to shoot because he wants him to be more aggressive taking it in to the hoop.
If Tony Parker was playing for the Utah Jazz he'd be just as good as Deron Williams.

What kind of dumb logic is that? Think about it. Whose job is to defend the basket? Big men right. Well how easy is it try to defend the basket and guard Tim Duncan at the same time? If you try to give help D thats an easy 2 from Duncan. And on top of that he has shooters like Bowen, Fin, and Barry that you can't leave open or they'll drain the 3 and Manu whose also a threat.
And Coach Pop didn't just say "don't shoot the 3" he fined him $100 bucks last year every time he took one last year. His J is spotty, he only has average court vision and an average distributor. Deron is his superior at all of those aspects which for a point guard seem more important than having TP's superior blazing speed/quickness combo to get to the rim and finishing ability on 9 out of 10 teams.

I won't question your logic but you're basically saying anyone can do what Parker does and that's not true.
TP has excellent basketball IQ and takes advantage of what's there very well.
And you act like Deron has no talent around him.
as for what's important for a point guard, look at the PGs that have won the ships recently (1991 to present):
J. Williams
C. Billups
T. Parker
D. Fisher
A.Johnson
R. Harper
K.Smith / Cassell
BJ Armstrong
Paxson
see any Stocktons, Kidds, Paytons there?
Not very many "classic" or "true" PGs have won ships overall unless you consider Magic and Isiah in those categories.

I do consider Billups, Jay Will, Avery Johnson, Magic and Isiah as true points. On the Bulls teams Pippen was the point and on the first 2 Lakers titles at least you can argue that Kobe was as well.

Deron Williams, no competition. Only reason Parker has better fg% is because he doesn't take 3's or many other jumpshots like Williams and most of his points consist of driving to the hoop for a layup.
