Default Pelican trades

Pelican trade:

1st pick for Dennis Smith Jr, Mitchell Robinson, Knox and 3rd pick

AD for Ingram, Kuzma and 4th

Draft RJ Barret and Koby White

LA gets AD, NY gets Zion, Pelicans field a DEEP roster. Problem solved

Pelicans:
Jrue, Smith
Moore, White
Ingram, RJ, Knox
Randle
Okafor, Mitchell

Thank goodness you're not their GM.

You got a college player who doesn't want to be drafted by that team, and a star player who has vocally said he wants to be moved. You get in return a third and fourth plus good prospects. Can you think of anything better?

LA wants AD and NY wants Zion. I think both give up heavy for their wants. Pels would come out golden

If NO was willing to deal with the Lakers AD would already be there. They have a vendetta and won't be letting them have him.

The Knick trade idea might be fair for on-court value but Williamson is going to be a superstar in terms of fan support the minute they draft him, wil have a top-selling jersey and be one of the most marketable players in the game. For a team like NO that's huge. You will have to pry him ot of their cold dead fingers.

WHO said? The ****ing idiots on ESPN? Because Zion was surprised that New Orleans got the #1 pick? You realise what chance they had, right? He wouldn't have even been thinking the Pelicans...

That's no true. Why trade him then during mid-season when they don't need to? They can wait and see who gets what picks and add more to their current trades. As it stands right now the Lakers will have to offer what they did during hte regular season plus the #4 pick.

Ingram
Hart
Kuzma
Caldwell-Pope
Ball
#4 Pick

...at minimum.

Fair take. But this time a #4 pick is involved. More return could change the position

I agree. Zion is probably the most marketable player since Lebron. But it's NO. Plus you take the risk that he may sign elsewhere and get nothing in return in about 4-5 years. There's a huge risk involved especially with parity in the NBA. That's a pretty substantial return in Barrett who was projected no.1 before the NCAA season, plus Dennis Smith, Knox, and Mitchell.

Not like the Celtics are going to trade for AD after Kyrie ditches them. Davis going to the Lakers is set in stone.

They offered the Pelicans everything and didn't even get a counter offer. They were never seriously engaged. They weren't even strung along. The 4th pick makes it a little better but they are still just outside Barrett/Morant/Williamson and now they have to worry about Ingram's health. LA isn't getting him.

With restricted free agency they can hold onto him for just as long as they have Davis. He could want out like Davis does in seven years but even if he does you've had seven years of profitability at worst and with some good GM work and luck could also be a good team. Maybe even good enough to get him to stay. And they can't take the approach that they'll never be able to resign superstars if they draft them. How are they ever supposed to build a champion like that?

No because he looked like "he was hit by a truck" once the Pelicans were number one.

He knows he will never win anything nor get the attention he deserves.
