Default 2013-14 Premier League Power Rankings Thread

    Week 1 Power Rankings

Ranking | Last Weeks Ranking | Team | Record

    1. (0) D.R.A.K.E (0-0-0) -

As the 3-time defending champion, Pete is Numero Uno by default. Going into the season, some expected him to draft poorly due to the fact he is slumming it in Pablo Escobar's home town. He quickly proved those people wrong by grabbing Batum with the last pick in the 2nd round and following it up with a lot of really solid picks. Durant and a nice mixture of high upside players and solid veterans should have this team near the top all year long.

D.R.A.K.E does have its fair share of weaknesses, as he is missing a PG to compliment Conley, and will struggle to compete in the big man stats. Considering he has dominated the league for 3 straight years, expect for those problems to be resolved swiftly.

    2. (0) Iamgine (0-0-0) -

Iamgine returns again with the same ol' strategy. This team reminds me more of his elite 2011 team, than his 2012 middle of the road team. Is led by the consistent Chris Paul and has guards and scorers galore. The only thing stopping this team from a guaranteed playoff spot is a very weak bench.

    3. (0) Los Angeles Lurkers (0-0-0) -

Last year's Minor League champ came in firing with a very good draft. Some of the picks were risky, but this team is one of the few championship contenders if Rondo comes back soon. Aldridge was a steal and Gasol should have a nice bounce back year without Dwight in there clogging the paint.

    4. (0) Keep Floatin' (0-0-0) -

If Westbrook doesn't have any complications from his injury, this is one of the few championship contenders. If he uses the WW properly, this team has a chance to be THE BEST. The most complete team in the league with solid guards, forwards, and centers. You just wonder how good this team could already be, if he hadn't traded Love for Bosh and Ibaka.

    5. (0) Big Poppa PUMPIN (0-0-0) -

Stroshow4 Reincarnated! Plenty of people have tried the Dwight Howard strategy but few have succeeded. This team looks like one of the better (tanking) teams. Is very top heavy with only 5 picks in the top 99, but also managed to pick up some solid guys later in Hawes and Reggie Jackson. Might need another solid PG if he wants to turn this playoff team into a championship contender.

    6. (0) G-train (0-0-0) -

The very worst team in the 2011-12 Premier League has returned, and is actually off to a surprisingly good start. The team is built more for a ROTO league, but it does has enough firepower to stay in the hunt in a H2H league. Is very weak in the big man categorizes, but has efficient guards. If Curry's glass ankles stay intact, and Kawhi Leonard builds off his performance in the Finals, this looks to be a very solid team.

    7. (0) License to LILLARD (0-0-0) -

Oh what could have been. Had a great draft outside of 1 pick. So why 7th? I'll let Sky explain.

"whyd u **** me yahoo draft interface? WHY? i didnt want bynum whyd you trick me, **** YOU. AHHHH !!!!!!! NOOOOOO WHYU!!!! ****KKK"

Andrew Bynum was probably the worst pick of the draft. It's hard to draft someone 69th who not only missed the entire 2012 season, but looked like a crackhead on the sideline. The good news is reports on Bynum are looking good, and if he plays, he will perform. Has a high upside team that could either finish at the bottom, or contend for a championship spot. Considering Kyrie, Andy V, and Bynum are all on the Cavs, he will be watching a lot of Cavs games and hoping none of them fall to an injury.

    8. (0) Rameek's Year (0-0-0) -

Rameek auto-drafted AGAIN, but this time lucked out with the Harden and Hibbert picks. Has plenty of players that could be considered crusty with little upside, but could also contend for a playoff spot if those old men stay on the court. Might look for high upside guys on the wire if he wants to raise the ceiling on this team.

    9. (0) Sizz (0-0-0) -

If you look at the draft, it seemed like Sizz had one of the better drafts this year. The problem is the construction of the team is piss-poor. Will be good in 3 categories and average/horrible in the rest. Has the talent but will this rarely active manager make the needed moves to contend? Only time will tell. A return to the top for a former elite manager would be a great thing for the league.

    10. (0) Overdosed (0-0-0) -

Started the draft strong with high upside/high floor young guys, but then quickly went downhill with more high upside guys with FA floors. Is depending on a lot of rookies and sophomores, so while this team could be great, it could also be one of the worst ever.

    11. (0) El Bobcatos 2013 (0-0-0) -

Another first time Premier member, this one has a completely unknown track record. Should keep out of the cellar with Lebron leading the team, but is depending on too many guys with questionable statuses. Will need Jameer and Greivis to keep their jobs on rebuilding teams, and Monroe to stay aggressive on a team with some black holes.

    12. (0) Team OJ Mayo (0-0-0) -

This team looks very familiar to last years mediocre team. Has said he would wait to trade until he has seen how his team performs, but currently has 2 PF/C and 3 PF/C slots to fill. You can not win in this league if you are giving away 2-3 games a week. Has the talent with (2) 1st rounders, but will he be able to manage his team properly? History tells us HELL NO!

    13. (0) 313 up in this bich (0-0-0) -

Attila returns with a very "meh" team. Is not strong in any category, but is at least average in almost every category. Very low ceiling team that will need for Tobias Harris to replicate his late season play if he wants to sniff the playoff hunt. Might have drafted Paul George a little early, as it's tough to envision him playing better than his 20th place ranking last season.

    14. (0) Sponsored by Cuban (0-0-0) -

Choosing his family over the draft hurt this team quite a bit. Had a solid 1st pick with Melo, but then drafted quite a few guys that are either injured, or due for some regression. Hard to see a lot of upside with this team, but it does have the talent to move up to middle of the pack. Guys like Amir, Asik, and Redick will need to show that last year was not a fluke.

Personally the picture alone makes this the greatest ever PR's. You could have put pure nonsense and it would have been the best

Only thing I would say is, their seems to be teams with no or 1 star in the top half which doesnt make a lot of sense.

A lot of the teams were in the same grouping with good team structure being the only thing differentiating those at the top, from the teams at the bottom.

    Week 2 Power Rankings

Ranking | Last Weeks Ranking Move | Team | Record

    1. (0) D.R.A.K.E (1-0-0) -

The 3 time defending champion started off his campaign for another championship with a big 5-4 win over previously ranked #3 Lurkers. Still looking to improve his team, he added a potentially solid big in Tristan Thompson this week. One of the most tenacious (or annoying) managers, he will continue to bombard people with trade offers until he gets his perfect team.

    2. (0) Iamgine (1-0-0) -

Projected to win 5-4 over previously ranked #9 Lillard, he met that and more. Chris Paul will need to continue to play out of his mind if he wants to make up for the injures to Ryan Anderson, and Goran Dragic.

    3. (0) Los Angeles Lurkers (0-1-0) -

Almost came away with the victory against the top team in the league, but Gasol blocked Korver's desperate attempt at forcing overtime and giving Teague and Gasol a shot at winning points. Still has a very nice team so now is not the time to give up hope. A matchup against 12th ranked OJMayo should allow the 2012 Minors Champ to get his first victory.

    4. (+1) Big Poppa PUMPIN (1-0-0) -

Pulled out a great 5-4 win against previously ranked 4th, Floatin'. This team will be tough to beat if Spencer Hawes continue with his great play. Some have questioned whether or not trading Kemba Walker was the right move. Deron Williams might be the better fit for his team, but is he really someone you can depend on? We shall see. #cantwait

    5. (-1) Keep Floatin' (0-1-0) -

Won't move down much after a tough 4-5 loss against previously ranked 5th, Big Poppa Pumpin. Despite the loss, his arrow is pointing upwards, as Russell Westbrook made a surprise return on Sunday.Gets a small break this week against 11th ranked Sizz.

    6. (+2) Rameek's Year (1-0-0) -

Beat previously ranked #6 G-Train, but it really wasn't a surprise. His team matched up nicely, and he got great contributions from complimentary pieces like Kyle Korver and PJ Tucker. Has a real challenge this week against #2 ranked Iamgine.

    7. (-1) G-train (0-1-0) -

Had a tough match-up last week against previously ranked #8 Rameek. Was projected to lose 4-5 and lost by that exact margin. One wonders if this roto-centric team has enough firepower to win big in a H2H league. A matchup against up and comer,10th ranked Bobcatos will be a great measuring stick.

    8. (-1) License to LILLARD (0-1-0) -

Bynum surprisingly played, but Lillard still got brutally raped by everyone's new favorite Asian. A 2-6 loss is not a good way to start the season, and Kyrie Irving must improve if this team wants to prevent a free fall in the rankings.

    9. (+1) Overdosed (1-0-0) -

The variance is high with this team, and this week his young guys really showed up. If MCW and Sixers teammate Evan Turner continue their great play, this team will continue to move up in the rankings. Gets a easy match-up this week against 14th ranked Cuban.

    10. (+1) El Bobcatos 2013 (1-0-0) -

Wasn't a surprise he beat the league laughingstock, but he did surprise by winning 7-2 and taking the #1 spot in the standings. LeBron will give this team a shot most weeks, but not sure it is enough to keep him in the playoff spot. Beating up on teams he is suppose to is a good start.

    11. (-2) Sizz (0-0-1) -

Very disappointing first week, as he tied 12th ranked OJMayo. Probably shouldn't have tied, but OJMayo didn't manage properly down the stretch. The activity seems to be there, but he still has no trades to his name. Must improve his balance if he wants to move up in the rankings.

    12. (0) Team OJ Mayo (0-0-1) -

Won't move up this week, but that doesn't mean he didn't surprise and get better. He made some moves that give his team some structure, and most importantly, more than 2 PF/C's. Kevin Love and Melo is the strongest duo in the league, but will it be enough for him to move up this week?

    13. (0) 313 up in this bich (0-1-0) -

Was projected to win 5-4 against Overdosed, but that didnt take into effect that fact that Tobias Harris missed the entire week. Kept it close until the end where he lost 3-6. Has a brutal match-up this week against the 3-time defending champion.

    14. (0) Sponsored by Cuban (0-1-0) -

Not really proving doubters wrong after an opening 2-7 loss. Didn't help things with the Melo trade, but seems to really be attempting to improve with a league-high 4 trades on the season. The season doesn't get any easier this week with a match-up against 9th ranked Overdosed.

    Week 3 Power Rankings

Ranking | Last Weeks Ranking Move | Team | Record

    1. (+1) Iamgine (2-0-0) -

Our new #1!!! His team is playing very well despite injuries to key guys. It just shows how deep this team is, and how strong it is in certain categories. Matching up against 13th ranked Bobcatos, he should stay at the number 1 spot for at least another week.

    2. (-1) D.R.A.K.E (1-1-0) -

It was surprising to see him lose, especially to previously ranked 13th, 313. Still, we can't count out the superior management despite horrific performances from a couple middle of the draft guys. Is pretty much on a bye this week as he faces off against 14th ranked Brick Squad 2.0.

    3. (+1) Big Poppa PUMPIN (2-0-0) -

Keeps racking up the wins with a nicely constructed team. Is getting contributions from almost everyone, but now has dead weight in Tyson Chandler. His team should be strong enough to overcome the big man stats he will lose and a win over 5th ranked Rameek will solidify him as a championship contender.

    4. (-1) Los Angeles Lurkers (0-2-0) -

Still winless, but kept it close despite being severely outnumbered. Made a great trade acquiring a 1st rounder and nice depth in return for some struggling pieces. This week is huge, as another loss will coincide with a huge drop in the rankings. Wilson Chandler returning should help.

    5. (+1) Rameek's Year (1-1-0) -

Lost this past week, but moved up thanks to keeping it close vs top ranked Iamgine. Steve Blake might turn out to be a great pick-up with Nash having injury issues. This team has no time to rest as he matches up against 3rd ranked PUMPIN this week.

    6. (+3) Overdosed (2-0-0) -

The young guys continue to show up and breakout in new roles. Is being led by the top fantasy player thus far, Anthony Davis. Hasn't faced the toughest schedule, but gets an interesting match-up against 8th ranked G-Train this week.

    7. (-2) Keep Floatin' (0-2-0) -

Very disappointing loss to previously 11th ranked Sizz. Seems to be making more nice trades than bad ones, but really could use a victory this week. Faces 12th ranked Pocahontas in a battle of winless teams.

    8. (+1) G-train (1-1-0) -

Very predictable team that should stay close most weeks. Got the victory this past week, but really needs a big victory over surging 6th ranked Overdosed if he wants to be viewed as a true playoff contender.

    9. (+2) Sizz (1-0-1) -

After a disappointing week 1, he came alive in week 2. Was projected to lose 2-7 over previously ranked 5th Keep Floatin', but pulled off the nice 5-4 victory. Could really use the return of Al Jefferson after losing Javale McGee to an injury that will keep him out a long time.

    10. (+3) 313 (1-1-0) -

Nice win over the 3x defending champion. Has a really solid team that is overcoming some minor injuries. A win this week over 11th ranked OJ Mayo could really separate himself from the rest of the lower tier.

    11. (+1) Team OJ Mayo (1-0-1) -

Kevin Love is a flat out monster. He is getting solid contributions from quite a few other guys, but Love is carrying this team. Looks to be a decently constructed team, but really should have won by more last week considering he outnumbered Lurkers by quite a bit.

    12. (-4) Pocahontas (0-2-0) -

Is now winless after two weeks and just dropped its 5th rounder. Still, you have to commend him for dropping dead weight, and getting as much as he did in what looked like a sell low move. Kevin Martin has been one of the steals of the draft, and this team moving down 4 spots is moreso an effect of others around him winning.

    13. (-3) El Bobcatos 2013 (1-1-0) -

Wasn't horrible but others played better this week. He might be 13th, but he is a lot closer to being in playoff contention, than being anywhere near the 14th spot. Has a tough match-up this week against top ranked Iamgine.

    14. (0) Brick Squad 2.0 (0-2-0) -

What we discovered this past week, was that those barrage of trades were done as amusement for this manager, rather than an attempt at improving his team. Now we got a new manager who is looking to start all over. Getting this team out of the cellar would almost guarantee him the Manager of the Year Award.

    Week 4 Power Rankings

Ranking | Last Weeks Ranking Move | Team | Record

    1. (0) Iamgine (3-0-0) -

Just keeps winning, beating 13th ranked Bobcatos 6-3 last week. Is now totally healthy and will look to rack up another win against 8th ranked Overdosed.

    2. (0) D.R.A.K.E (2-1-0) -

Was not a big surprise that he beat the league laughing stock, but it does put him on the right track again. Has yet to make a big move, but a break from the wilderness will give him plenty of time this week. Has a nice battle against 6th ranked G-Train this week.

    3. (+2) Rameek's Year (2-1-0) -

Had a brutal 3 week stretch to start the season, but survived it with 2 wins over solid opponents. Will get a little break this week against 12th ranked Pocahontas.

    4. (-1) Big Poppa PUMPIN (2-1-0) -

Doesn't move down far after a loss to Rameek last week. Is still a very strong team that will stay in the playoff hunt all year long. Last year's regular season champion just knows how to win in the regular season.

    5. (-1) Los Angeles Lurkers (1-2-0) -

Got his 1st win but still moves down 1 spot. It is hard to justify him ranking in the top 3 after 2 bad losses to start the season. Will need another win this week against 7th ranked Keep Floatin' if he wants to put the misery of the first 2 weeks out of sight.

    6. (+2) G-train (2-1-0) -

Did what he needed to do last week against previously ranked 6th, Overdosed. Has an interesting match-up against 2nd ranked D.R.A.K.E in what should be the DZW Match-up of the Week.

    7. (0) Keep Floatin' (1-2-0) -

Got his 1st win in impressive fashion, beating 12th ranked Pocahontas 7-2 despite being projected to lose big. This week is the week that will tell us if his revamped team will be able to contend for a playoff spot.

    8. (-2) Overdosed (2-1-0) -

Lost for the first time this year, and added 2 more guys to the injury list. It's going to be tough to win without Kobe, Larry Sanders, and MCW. Good news is Kobe should be back soon. Bad news is he faces off against top ranked Iamgine this week.

    9. (+2) Team OJ Mayo (2-0-1) -

One of 2 teams that has yet to lose, he had a very solid 6-3 win over previously ranked 10th, 313. It's just hard to trust such a wishy-washy manager, but if he continues to win, he will continue to move up in the rankings.

    10. (-1) Sizz (1-1-1) -

Recorded his first loss this week, losing 3-6 and picking up more guys with questionable injury backgrounds. Has always had a talented team, but question marks continue to surround the structure.

    11. (-1) 313 (1-2-0) -

Mr. Bipolar now has 2 big losses, and a win against the 3x defending champion. Not sure what to think of this team, but an injured Tobias Harris is not helping.

    12. (0) Pocahontas (0-3-0) -

Was projected to get his first win this year in a 7-2 blowout, but lost 7-2 instead. Has had some breakout stars, but the team isn't doing enough to get a win. Doesn't move down because the teams below him aren't doing much better.

    13. (0) El Bobcatos 2013 (1-2-0) -

We figured he would lose to top ranked Iamgine, so it won't move him down. Still, a win over someone other than Brick Squad 2.0 would make a statement that he doesn't belong near the bottom.

    14. (0) Brick Squad 2.0 (0-3-0) -

Not worthy of discussion until he makes a move towards winning.

    Week 5 Power Rankings

Ranking | Last Weeks Ranking Move | Team | Record

    1. (+1) D.R.A.K.E (3-1-0) -

Continues to rack up wins, but still doesn't seem like a team that is complete. Moves up to 1st this week, but has a huge match-up against 2nd ranked Iamgine. Will say a lot about the future of this team if he can give Iamgine his 2nd straight loss.

    2. (-1) Iamgine (3-1-0) -

Destroyed previously ranked 8th, Overdosed, but still lost. It speaks volumes about how this team is built and it's future as a championship or playoff contender. Has a huge match-up against top ranked D.R.A.K.E in a battle for that #1 spot.

    3. (+2) Los Angeles Lurkers (2-2-0) -

Picked up another victory and is now starting to justify his pre-season ranking. Has a very balanced team, but really needs more production from Kyrie Irving. Faces 9th ranked 313 this week

    4. (+4) Overdosed (3-1-0) -

Got destroyed in his match-up against previously top ranked Iamgine, but still pulled through with a victory. Traded Kobe Bryant and is hoping one less injury will help him now. Gets to face another injury plagued team in 8th ranked Big Poppa PUMPIN this week.

    5. (+4) Team OJ Mayo (3-0-1) -

Has yet to lose, but some out there are questioning his strength of schedule. Still might be a team that contends for a playoff spot at the very least, considering the performances of super-studs Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony. Will go to battle against 7th ranked G-Train this week.

    6. (-3) Rameek's Year (2-2-0) -

We thought this past week was going to be a little break, but he got demolished by previously ranked 12th, Pocahontas. Will look to bounce back against another struggling team, 11th ranked Keep Floatin.

    7. (-1) G-train (2-2-0) -

Can't downgrade him much as he at least competed against the defending champion, D.R.A.K.E. Is one of those teams that should stay in the playoff hunt barring any huge injuries. Has a huge match-up this week against undefeated, Team OJ Mayo.

    8. (-4) Big Poppa PUMPIN (3-1-0) -

    Good news: He won again.
Bad news: He lost Andre Igoudala and Spencer Hawes to injury.
Horrible news: He lost Derrick Rose to a season ending injury.

This team started off great but it will be tough to come back from so many injuries. Has to be downgraded this week because the future looks anything but bright.

    9. (+2) 313 (2-2-0) -

Still not sure what to make of this team, but he did pick up a nice victory over previously ranked 10th Sizz. Was projected to win by a bigger margin, but still got things done despite a couple small injuries and Marcus Thornton falling off the map. Looks to continue his winning ways in a match-up against ranked 3rd, Lurkers

    10. (+2) Pocahontas (1-3-0) -

Finally picked up his first win, and did it in style. The blowout was nice, but getting his entire team to perform was even better. Should pick up another victory this week against 13th ranked Bobcatos.

    11. (-4) Keep Floatin' (1-3-0) -

Got destroyed 2-7 by previously ranked 5th, Lurkers. Has had injuries, and continues to trade for more injuries. Injuries can be a sign of bad luck, but they can also be attributed to trading for guys that have an injury prone history. If he wants to win this week, he must get contributions from at least 1 of the following group (Kobe,Lopez,Deron).

    12. (-2) Sizz (1-2-1) -

Had a solid week, but couldn't get things done against previously ranked 11th, 313. Could have had a better week if Gordon Hayward didn't crap the bed and go 1-17 against the Pelicans. You can chalk up a win this against 14th ranked Brick Squad 2.0.

    13. (0) El Bobcatos 2013 (1-3-0) -

Had another shot at beating someone other than Brick Squad, but couldn't get it done. Injuries hurt him a bit, but keeping Chris Kaman on his roster hurt him more. Dropped him this week in anticipation for an interesting match-up against 10 ranked, Pocahontas.

    14. (0) Brick Squad 2.0 (0-4-0) -

Not worthy of discussion until he makes a move towards winning.

My one big weakness is the inability of setting up my line up on time. That'll no longer be a problem. Still early and I'm coming.
