dondarrion is AWESOME, love his character + (spoiler) connection to the lord of light. here's hoping they do a good job with him, can't remember who played him in the first season when ned sent him out initially

is the queen of thorns a redwyne? i knew she married into the tyrells but didn't realize that was her blood. i just got to a section in the book where (spoiler) she comes into contact with tyrion and i really liked what martin did there. he's got a knack for not overusing his characters, downplaying meetings between major characters, its one aspect of his story-telling that really contributes to overall realism. he's not obsessed with forcing big controversial characters into stand-offs with one another like a lot of other writers.

You kind of forget how young Beric is when he's first introduced and before his appearance changes for a number of reasons. Really excited to see what the make-up people do with that character.

yeah i did notice how he flinched at the guy running up carrying that torch. but i would have never guessed thats why he left the battle. it just seemed like such a minor thing, where i was focusing on him watching people getting killed in slo mo which threw me off.

– Ser Brynden Tully (The Blackfish): Catelyn’s uncle.

– Olenna Redwyne (The Queen of Thorns): Margaery Tyrell’s sharp-witted grandmother.

– Beric Dondarrion: A skilled knight who is the leader of the outlaw group Brotherhood Without Banners.

– Thoros of Myr: A red priest who follows the same religion as Melisandre.

– Tormund Giantsbane: A Wildling raider.

All awesome characters. If the show continues its great casting for them season 3 should be amazing.

If anybody here has enjoyed Season 1 and 2...I'm telling you now...raise your expectations for season 3. Its going to be crazy.

On a side note: Cant wait to see Oberyn on TV...still about a season away though..

Season 3 is shaping up to be Epic television. Whoever hasn't read the books will be amazed.

I thought they tried to give you a little reminder right before he goes out into battle where he threatens the guy leading the archers to strangle him with his own entrails if one of those flaming arrows gets near him.

This is great news. A ton of really cool characters. I was getting a little worried about a few of them. Particularly the Reeds, and I was beginning to worry about Stannis' wife and daughter, which because of the way they've portrayed him, I think will give him another side, and while they're not critical, I can't entirely concieve of a way to handle some things down the road without them.

My guess is that the wildling fleet will take the most cuts. And I don't really have an issue with that. You've got the lord of bones, Thormand, and Mance, along with Ygritte. Most everyone else is at least somewhat expendable.

reeeally looking forward to seeing the return and eventual reveal of (SPOILER DONT QUOTE) barristan the bold, though it likely won't come until the 4th season

im just wondering how they'll pull it off since his casting was perfectly done and the actor has a very memorable face. if they follow the book, it'll be tricky to keep his identity a secret from the audience. his whole legend and reputation didn't seem as built up in the first season of the show as it was in the books, but his name is still a notable presence.

man i still haven't watched the latest episode i'm so absorbed in the books. based on what i've heard, and that it was written by martin himself, i should probably do that.... now.
