Question Does this team beat GSW this year?

Isaiah Thomas
Paul George
LeBron
Love
Robin Lopez

Bench:
Wade
Jeff Green
Korver
Crowder
Frye

Acquire PG for BKN Pick + TT/Shump

Acquire Robin Lopez for Cavs 1st rounder + Osman/Zizic

I believe that team can beat GSW.

Isaiah Thomas is on 6m this year so they might be able to fit it all in if they can shed themselves of TT/Shump deadweight salaries.

Why do you always make these moronic threads? Why would OKC want another center when they have Adams whose superior. Why would they want Shumpert, another mediocre shooter on that team to replace Robertson when he goes to the bench?

"can the cavs beat the warriors if x team trades an amazing player for cavs' worst contracts imaginable. pls discuss"

Isaiah and PG need the ball to be effective. Replace Isaiah with Bradley and PG with Danny Green or Jaylen Brown.

Bradley
Brown/Green
LeBron
Love
Lopez

Bench:
Wade
Jeff Green
Korver
Crowder
Frye

Paul George is currently 4th in the league in made spot-up 3's. Only Klay Thompson, Robert Covington and Ryan Anderson have made more

He is shooting 40.6% on spot-up 3's. Making 2.4/6 a game.

Averages 2.5 steals per game on the 2nd best defensive team in the league

Imagine if he wasn't playing with Carmelo and Westbrook!

Just going off the news from the day of David Griffin saying OKC might trade PG later this season if it continues to fall apart and they wish to salvage.

Tristan is to make the salaries fit, the value from that deal would be the BKN pick plus perhaps a young talent piece (Osman? Zizic?)

The reality is not many teams will bite on a potential half-season rental. Only a team like Cleveland would be willing to bite.

And if you're OKC, you'll take what you can get at that point. That is unless they feel confident that they can re-sign him (doubtful).

Cleveland would do this because they are in championship contention right now, and Paul George could put them over the top. It's a risk they'd be willing to take. In the process they might be able to shed some bad salaries that have poor ROI.

And what's a better sales pitch to convince PG to re-sign than going to the NBA Finals and winning a championship? It's a good gamble that fits Cleveland's NOW window.

And besides, Cleveland has a lot of contracts/re-signing... The LeBron issue, Isaiah Thomas is up for a max contract, Wade might look for more coin, Crowder as well... Only really JR and Love are tied down.

You haven't explained why they would take TT's bad contract when they have a center, and BK pick is going to make them do it to lose PG for half season? They probably don't make the PS if they make that trash ass trade.

No, that's not enough help for Lebron.

Trade would be contingent on OKC continuing to fail. Trade deadline is the 8th of February.

Also would be contingent on just how bad/good Brooklyn is by February. This pick could swing north or south. If it's top 5, I think OKC might be willing to bite the bullet on the Tristan contract.

Perhaps a better way to structure an OKC Paul George Cavs trade would be...

Instead of TT, trade BKN pick + Shumpert + the Kyrie Irving Trade exception to makeup salary

Shumpert's contract is more manageable/less of a burden.

GSW is an all-time stacked team. Assembled to compete for the title, heck they can match the 60's Celtics, 80's Lakers and 80's Celtics, 90's Bulls, and 2000's Lakers.
