Like I said, just off the perception of who you are when you're black it is easier being a white person in America (in the same social strata).

I agee with your post though. Either way black on white, white on black, this anger and disdain for people is unacceptable and quite scary especially if you have children.

I appreciate you sharing your perspective, its always enlightening to me to learn about points of view different from my own.

I just feel that my life wouldn't really be different if I wasn't white all other things held the same, but I do feel my life would have been different had I been born in a poor family, and had to go to bad public schools.

Hopefully someday, everyone feels that they have an equal chance of success, regardless of ethnicity, religion, orientation, gender or economic class. my general point is America is moving in the right direction in this regard. Years ago no matter how talent you were if you weren't white you could almost never be rich. A lot has changed, I now firmly believe economic class limits people more than any other factor.

I have had bosses ask me to recommend a candidate for a position and strongly hinted that they desired a qualified minority candidate, because it looks bad to have your office be too white nowadays. Especially if you're in a diverse area. Similar requests for female candidates also happen. I am not saying this proves that there is no racism, only that it shows that public opinion has shifted and it is now impossible to have all white males in a corporate environment and not look bad.

Romney's binder full of women was a similar phenomena. I understand he was just trying to look good, but the fact that he had to hire women to look good proves a positive change in America. And no matter how you get into a position if you aren't good enough you will be removed, and if you are good enough you will keep your job. It's a way into the door.

EDIT: no one has ever asked me to recommend a candidate from a poor economic background.
