Default Prince

I'm not going to be selfish about this at all. I am proud that he stepped up to represent his country in the Olympics. I will be over the fact that Detroit lost in the ECF again if he helps our country bring back the gold and restore it's glory. I think his game is perfectly suited for the international game and he is going to do a lot of little things to help the team win. I really get sick of the europeans bashing the NBA. I am very proud to be an American and will stick up for our country. The euroleague is not better than the NBA. Sometimes we forget we need to go out and represent ourselves. We have this great product here in the NBA. Since we didn't send out the best players for a few years the rest of the world doesn't see it as a good product anymore. If you don't think that's how they see it just go to the international forum and see how much they rip on not only our NBA teams but our college teams and olympic teams. With a Piston on the team we should be doing everything we can to support them, and heck even without a Piston on the team I would do the same. I love Olympic basketball. I know my fellow Pistons fans feel the same. It's a Michigan thing and we are patriotic. Go over to that forum and read through some of those long threads and stick up for your team so it isn't just me against the world please..... I hoped that I never would have had to bring it up, that people would just stick up for them. At this point I just don't want it to become a big bashfest against the US. It makes us look bad like we don't support our national teams. I say any one of the Pistons players can go and I won't worry about injuries next year. I'm going to support them and the rest the team.

Anyone who thinks the Euroleague is better than the NBA doesn't have a clue about how basketball is played IMO. Other than one year, last Olympics, where the US didn't have the slightest clue on how to play as a team, the US has dominated the Olympics in basketball. I expect them to do just that this Olympics.

Oh, and about Prince, one of my favorite NBA players. He works his tail off and plays the right way.

It's unfortunate that the NBA players get stuck playing with rules that make it so an athlete who is worse has a chance to compete. Really I think the best rules lie somewhere in the middle of the NBA and FIBA rules. There's good parts about both. Unfortunately, the rest of the world likes to try to change the game to have a chance to beat the US. It's like playing a board game when you are a little kid and you cheat and change to rules so you can catch up or get ahead. That's what the FIBA rules are to me.

I think he'll get a solid 10-15 minutes per game. I don't think coach K will try to over or under play anybody. My guess is he will try to keep everybody fresh as possible. Prince will be an unsung hero kind of guy just like he is on the Pistons.
