Same here.... seems like the seasonals have come out earlier over the last 2 years.

Also noticed not just seasonals but a certain beer ( say a winter warmer) from a brewery that once was only available from like November till it's gone... is now coming out a month earlier.

I heard they changed the recipe for Oberon and it doesn't taste quite the same.

They're suppose to be coming out with a "double" two hearted.

June was the target then pushed it back to August due to change in plan to put in cans instead of bottles.

One thing I noticed about a year ago, is that when chain sports bars have a seasonal from a brewery, they'll only pour 10oz which totally makes sense from a business standpoint

Snifters are generally 12 oz and reserved for beers that have higher abv. So yes. Mainly the imperials

That sports bar serving 10 oz beers are probably doing it out of costs considering most local craft beers don't pay the premium for the taps. They're likely just trying to make margin.

Like I said, technically an Oktoberfest isn't a seasonal. It's just a fancy way to say German lager. You can sell it year round. You can just call it Bitburger

it's just named after the event. There's no actual seasonal thing about it

And when I say seasonal in that incidence, it's a specific beer made by that brewery... like one of their go-to's people anticipate gettin once a year. Like a red imperial ale from Lagunitas "Lucky 13" or Great Lakes out of Cleveland "Nosferatu" are great examples of red ales.

Ahh gotcha. I guess like calling a regular stout Christmas Dark beer.

One German style/beer that I was turned onto I really like (other than Lowenbrau in my early days, haha) is Dortmunder. It was one of the first "craft" I had when starting to dabble. Great Lakes makes awesome example.

btw, found out about 8-10yrs ago, Lowenbrau is no longer shipped to the states

They were bought out by Labatts and brewed there. There should be government liquor stores that carry that there no? We get them in tall boys here. Search out a Bavarian lager if you liked Lowenbrau. Okanagan Springs makes one here called 1516. The bar I work sometimes has that on regular tap.
You can't really mess up a Bavarian lager. It's only 4 ingredients. Just using German grown malts and hops

Definitely.

I like brown ales, pilseners, pale ales, lagers and sometimes an IPA. I used to be really into the IPAs in the beginning but they started becoming too hoppy and not refreshing anymore so I stopped. I really like a nice kolsch as well as a pacific pale ale. Not a big fan of wheat beers.

I started brewing my own beer using kits and pre-made worts. I made a brown ale last year and ended up getting about 55 bottles out of it. Kept 10 hidden away and left them for a year and opened them up last month. Soooo tasty.

Give me regular beer any day of the week. I have not found a single craft beer I prefer to the ones that have been around forever. I prefer Miller, Bud, etc...
