All I remember is at one point is was pretty highly ranked in mocks. Back as far as when he was playing with Blake. Never really saw much of him tho, only reason why I really know who he is pre NBA tho.
His stock fell pretty hard at Oklahoma as well. He had attitude problems, and conditioning issues as well, to the point where he wound up having his minutes severely slashed.
It seemed to be one of those cases where he was projected top ten as a PG when he was playing with Blake, and then when he decided to come back, it became a case of him thinking the whole purpose of the season was for him to get into the top five, which he took to mean he should shoot it as often as he possibly could. The coaching staff seemed to have other opinions.
I still felt like where the Clippers got him he could be a steal. He can fit a role as a bench scoring PG.
Yes. Like KG215 said, he had attitude problems with Capel after Blake left. His stock fell from lottery to 2nd round.
From what I remember, he's the kind of guy that needs to play into games. He needs to have the greenlight to take volume shots. When his minutes were being slashed his play severely worsened because he wasn't getting the 10-15 shots he needs to be effective. Making him a 6-8 shot player decreases his effectiveness exponentially. Unfortunately, at the pro level he's going to have to learn to be a good sub/role player before he's green lit to shoot whenever he wants. He is strong and has good athleticism for his size, but unless he gets his attitude check, he may be just another player with great talent but not the work ethic to back it up. Maybe at best I'd hope for like a JR Smith type player.
