The 09 and 10 glory days (by our standards) are behind us for now. This team just isn't as good as it was 2 and 3 years ago.

Perhaps he meant the league is in trouble because Tebow is getting 2 snaps and a maximum of 20 in one game but neither time he said it did it sound like that.

Tebow is the Jets QB. This is endlessly entertaining to me.

I heard him say that that his snaps per game will vary greatly depending on the game/situation. Nobody knows anyway. What coaches and GMs say in the offseason should be taken with a few grains of salt.

Do you honestly think they brought in Tebow giving up a pick and $3M in cap space when you have almost none, to be just a wildcat QB? Honestly?

Then why would they give Sanchez an extension?

Sounds pretty reasonable. Teams have wasted second round picks for wildcat specific players(See Dolphins wasting a 2nd rounder on Pat White...)

Also, $3M cap space isn't making Tebow a liability. That's an actually a pretty good figure and the return they'll get on that $3m is insane.

I find it funny people rationalizing the Tebow mess. The Jets have a system made for Mark Sanchez and mgmt that wants Tebow to start. As a Giant fan it's win win. Jets will be a total mess. Plus it makes for entertaining radio and TV.

This Tebow situation is getting out of hand.. People were criticizing the Jets for not having a viable backup at QB to give Sanchez any competition and now since they got one people are claiming a management conspiracy? Sanchez has under performed and hadn't make the strides that he was expected to make, they traded up to get this guy. Tebow also gives them that wildcat player they were missing since Brad Smith left.

If the Jets signed a QB like Kyle Orton everyone would applaud the move but since it's tebow..

Few things...
1) The Jets have no cap space practically and a lot of holes to fill. And they spent cap space and picks on Tebow. The Jets need OL, DL, S, WR and RB help. Not, need to improve those positions, need real help. (DL more needs to improve.) They have yet to do so. Is every one of their draft picks and waiver wire acquisitions going to pan out great?
2) Tebow's fan base is so huge and fervent that it's almost going to push him into the starting position. It did in Denver. They got rid of him rather than keep him because he wanted to start, and they didn't want him to be a distraction to Peyton Manning. Sanchez is not Peyton. He has no chance to hold Tebow off. There is now a huge faction of the Jet fan base that are not even Jet fans, and who want Sanchez to fail. How is that a good dynamic? You are right, Orton would not have caused this problem.
3) This thought the Jets will have Tebow in this part time role as Wildcat QB is laughable, having two offenses does not work, Tebow does not want to be the part time QB, and this "need" for the Wildcat goes against the fact he Wildcat has been rendered all but ineffective now that defenses have seen it so much.

Did i miss where Denver had this dynamic offense that was so much better than the Jets?

The Jets have a bad locker room and a coach who doesn't really understand offense well and they added a person to it that makes the offense far more complicated and the locker room dynamic even more complex.

The Jets should have plugged the other holes all over, got some better linemen, and if they were in love with the wildcat, draft one of the RB's or QB that would have easily been available with a late pick that could have done it without shattering their starting QB.
