Dude has had a great month overall, unfortunately injuries and poor form beyond the three line has been incredibly frustrating team wise.

Hate this perception that every player has to eventually 'break out' and become a superstar.
Batum was drafted with the 25th pick in 2008, and has been not only a starter, but a very solid player for each season he has played.

This. Not every player can/will become a star.. especially someone picked at 25.

For sure. But the main gripe with Batum was that he showed big potential, and then disappeared for long stretches. And the big contract he signed....
That said, you're right. Not every player needs to become a star to be important to the team. Overall he's done well in his role.

He's a great do-it-all guy. Above average at basically everything but not amazing at anything either. Great player for any team to have. Will never be a superstar but will contribute in many ways.

See:
Jimmy Butler
Andre Iguodala
Chandler Parsons
Gordon Hayward
Thaddeus Young
basically any good SF that isn't Carmelo, Durant, or Lebron. Or George.
