Are overly competitive people really that bad?

yes they are, unless they happen to be in a professional sport/competition or doing it for their school or country.

I'm competitive as hell but say in a pickup game I'm not gonna be a dick or anything. Was at the gym earlier today and got put on clearly the best player there for defense. He was like 6'3, shot behind his head and could splash, liked to bang in the post and shit, and I locked his ass down.

Would use my hands to cutoff his vision, would front him in the post, would constantly keep up with him on the dribble, many times forcing him to move back and pass it up.

Dude was getting pissy about me going so hard on D, but after the games we shook hands and it was all cool.

Only the bold is relevant to the thread. The rest is desperate e-bragging.

I've competed in 2 sports at a national level. I'm a competitive person. Being overly competitive is only a negative thing if you're a bad sport about it.

I dislike the "It's taking part that counts" crowd more than anything.
