The era thing in general needs to be axed. You keep it and John Cena and Hulk Hogan should win every match up, simply because they've had the longest eras of being in the same role. Even if you can only pick four years, it kills it for better wrestlers who are/were better than them but didn't the ball to run with from creative until the end of their prime or their run was cut short for some reason. I think it will limit the fun in arguing immensly if one has to figure what made Wrestler A better in 96-2000 than Wrestler B from 86-90. Way different wrestling crowds, way different mainstream attention, and way different style of matches. It's like saying Tito Santana would be a megastar today because he was a fairly large flyer, latino, and WWE is looking for a latino to push today. You can't use that though because you'd be stuck saying why Tito was good then as opposed to his universal success despite era.

I agree. Just look at Andre the Giant. He could barely move in his later years.
