Re: The Republicans: Civil War
Good thread. Thanks for reminding ISH that the Republicans lead by Abraham Lincoln the GOAT president fought an entire war to end slavery in America. They put down the evil segregationist pro-slavery Democrats and brought them back in to the Union and forced them to follow the rules laid out in the great Republican document, the Emancipation Proclamation.
If it wasn't for the Republicans in the Civil War, we might have two different Americas right now and one of them would still have slaves.

Re: The Republicans: Civil War
Mean Mr. Trump bullied poor lil Ricky Rubio in to the dirt. Now lil Ricky needs Mitt the Mormon to come fight his battle for him.
The Repubs must hate Cruz even more than they hate Trump, considering Cruz actually won his home state.

Why is that a big deal? Trump supported Romney as well.

Stephen Douglas's Democrats came in fourth in the election of 1860.

What does that have to do with anything?

They weren't the party of the south that year due to a schism.

Still not sure what that has to do with anything. They were only dominated by the South in one election anyway (Buchanan's; Pierce carried the North and South, and before him there were plenty of Southern Whigs and Dems; the Republicans were the first party to organise along sectional lines; the Jacksonian Democrats were never really the party of the South, but the party of Jacksonian Democracy, as aside from the Whigs, who were generally more elitist).

Don't be surprised if Romney decides to join Rubio as VP and Jeb endorses Rubio. Rubio getting final push with possibly couple more SuperPACs that Romney/Jeb had. I think we will see multiple big endorsements in the coming days to push Rubio to counter Trump.
