This is a trade I thought might work. Hart played well for the Clipps. Wasn't sure what they thought of Brevin. I've always liked him. Should be a great fit in Utah. Great playmaker. Plays D. Now they just need the veteran shot blocker.
Knight gives us a smaller, quicker defender. I hear he makes good decisions, that alone will make Jazz fans love him. If he can put something together in the closing minutes of the quarters when Deron is resting, he will be a significant upgrade. .5M cheaper too.
Sloan liked Hart's work ethic, just didn't work out well here.
Never liked Knight, but then I never liked Fish either, and I was glad to have him on the team. And so, as I like Hart much less than Knight: good signing!
I'd guess they'll keep Price for the time being. Once Brevin comes in and takes the back-up job from him they might deal him.
I don't see the Jazz dealing Price yet, if at all. Knight is 33 and Price is a hard-working tenacious defender who plays within the offense (just like Knight), plus the Jazz have always and will always carry three point guards. The only way Price leaves is as a free agent, but I think the Jazz will try to lock him up, as I think they will use Knight as a veteran mentor to Ronnie and ultimately let Brevin walk when his contract is up next year.

Brevin's an old school pg and Price is more of an undersized two.

They have a great young pg already so it makes a lot more sense to carry a veteran rather it be Brevin or someone else. Could defenitely see Brevin back next year and maybe Price too but Price might cost even more than Brevin next year.
great trade for the Jazz... Hart was never going to work for the Jazz. Knights a nice backup kinda guy, he can go in during pressure situations and still keep things under control. He's definitly limited, but he's plenty good for a backup who only plays a few minutes.
Even if Knight doesn't work out at all, the Jazz still end up ahead by saving more money to spend elsewhere. Probably a great trade for the Clipps too. Hart played real well for them as a starter and could play very well for them again, so it works for both teams.
Mixed feelings... that what i have on this.
I always liked hart, came off the bench got some good shots and passed a bit. But we need a vet, thats what D Fish brought for us, so i hope Brev does the same. Looking forward to seeing him get some playing time come the pre season. Will be good
btw, when does the pre season start. And when does next seasons schedule get released?
