The DPOY has mostly been for Centers. THey make the most impact. But some guards are so good they can make just as much impact (Gary Payton)

Well that question was a toughy. i can't believe no one got that one

The anti-Camby crowd.... picture the Nuggets without Camby.... what is their defense like now?

The pro-Okafor crowd.... dude get's punked by opposing post players, his defense is way way way overrated. Jefferson, Stoudemire and Howard both abuse him.

Duncan is the guy here, or Battier, he has inspired the whole Rockets team into attempting defense. Van Gundy must be in love with Shane.

And O'Neal's Pacers are still a playoff team, without his defense they would be nowhere, crap offensive team, no other good defenders, well Tinsley is ok, but bleh, O'Neal has carried that piece of crap called a team.

Non playoff teams should not have a DPOY. Name me the last winner that didn't make the playoffs.

Ron Artest should be DPOY candidate at the very least.

He's crazy, thats a given.

He's on a crappy team, okay.

But he's still a superb defender. He Ranks #1 in the NBA in Steals Per Game(2.19). He Ranks #3 in the NBA in Steals Per 48 Minutes(2.81).

To see the real beauty of those numbers, one must realize that he plays on a team where there are NO other defenders so he lacks the opportunity to catch pressured passes after a teammate pressures his man into throwing a bad pass. And he has to shotblocker backing him up; he has freaking Brad Miller behind him!

Brad Miller isn't as bad a defender as people say. I like his man to man post D, he just lacks at helpside.

SAR is a bad defender and Thomas. What a terrible power forward combo.

Artest is not a DPOY candidate IMO.

If Duncan and Battier both miss the award, I'll discredit the merits of the award.

That's true for Camby as well, ewe dolt!

Ced, get this Camby crap out of your head. I'm begging you as your e-friend, quit drinking Camby's poisoned Kool-Aid.

where can I find the stat that shows how defenders effect eFG? that should give us some clues as to who deserves DPOY.

http://www.82games.com/teams05.htm

It doesn't rank the players, but you can go there and find each players eFG individually. Hope this helps.
