    Guys, sorry to disappoint, but there is at least some truth to what EL is saying. Mods, be fair.

    Now, there is no way that the NBA will agree to hold mid season Fiba tournaments UNLESS they had a stake in it or shorten the season for no reason. Don't underestimate Adam Silver and the NBA's dominance and clout over international hoops to get it done though. Silver has broached the idea of shorter seasons and mid season tournaments before, but not a fiba tournament.

    However, if Fiba relents, the NBA will say go ahead and do your tournaments without NBA players, and we will see how popular these tournaments will be.
