It's kind of crazy how evil Hitler was. I mean if you didn't know him and just saw a pic of him for the first time you'd be like, "Who's that queer looking dude?"
It is quite unfortunate that those who participated in the First World War are largely forgotten in today's day and age. When we have our Remembrance Days and Memorial Days, we think mostly about those still with us, and thoughts rarely stray to WWI.
These men fought in a gruesome, personal war, and most came home ruined because of it.
For those Canadians around here who wants to know more about WWI (it was the war which shaped Canada as a nation, and you SHOULD know about it), I'd suggest trying to find a copy of "For King & Empire", a 6 part documentary based on 5 or 6 people who participated in every major battle (Passchendale, Somme, Ypres, Vimy Ridge) and wrote letters home every day to their loved ones to describe their life. It's fascinating
(It also has a sweet rendition of Canada's original national anthem - "The Maple Leaf Forever")

It is crazy how he seems like any other person, and yet was one of the largest mass murderers ever.

The fact he was so crazy led him to devote his resources in ways which were inefficient to what should have been his primary goal, winning the war to the west. Everything else would have followed. When you read up about things you realize that he probably could have done damage to a point where even the US might not have been able to help turn the tide. We lucked out. THings would have been mighty ****ed up if he had won. How many of us on the board now would be here?

Oh I know, it's insane. You'd think that people would be able to tell him that it was a bad call to piss off Russia then, causing the double front. He could've f*cked up Europe even worse, and then gone after Russia later, BUT NO, the f*cking guy was mental.

He wasnt mental, just overconfident and cocky. Dude thought his war machine was the shit, invincible. I dont think he expected the russians to throw every living person on the front lines though.
He was mental, but that wasn't the explanation for that one. Dude was just drinking way too much of his own cool aid.
