I thought you meant leading the team in apg and ppg in the Finals while winning... that is more meaningful than leading in the regular reason against bad defenses and when games don't matter that much.

98 mj is overrated... how anyone with a 3.5apg average as a guard could win league mvp is beyond me

They probably count Kobe's airballs as assists when it gets put back. Quite some of those.

    96-97 Playoffs

    MJ: 29.6 PPG, 4.3 APG
    Pip: 19.2 PPG, 3.8 APG

    90-91 Finals

    MJ: 31.2 PPG, 11.4 APG
    Pip: 20.8 PPG, 6.6 APG

mj did it in a series here and there. but anything can happen in 4-7 games

its more telling of how the bulls played going based on the entire year

total up all 82 games and playoffs and pippen probably still has the lead in all 6 titles for apg

Mj led the Bulls in asts for the 91 playoffs. Mj avged 30 ppg on 55% with 11asts in the nba finals something Kobe will never do.

Since OP is picking nits elsewhere, Kobe didn't lead the Lakers in scoring in 2001...in the regular season or playoffs.

ya if you wanna go the extra mile and say theres big enough a difference between 28.5 and 28.7 to say it wasnt co-lead

even in the playoffs they both averaged 29

but i think its way more nitpicky to say the last few games of the bulls 1991 title are more telling on the style of play than the first 95+ games

Wait, so first you lames cry because Kobe uses moves like Jordan, but then discredit him when he doesn't win the exact same way?

thats why i said he was co-leader with shaq

if you round the numbers out its even.. both either 28ppg or 28.5... neither guy had more than a 0.5 differential between them during regular season or playoffs.

they were separated by less than half a percentage point

but whatever its not like anyone else has more than 2 anyway. go ahead and take off 2001 and kobes still tied for the most titles in nba history as leading ppg/apg

    losers :P
