I'm in a H2H league that counts the following categories
FG%
FT%
3PTM
3PT%
PTS
OREBs
DREBs
REBs
AST
ST
BLK
A/T Ratio
When I drafted, I didn't realize that rebounds was essentially worth 3 categories (yes, it's dumb!), so I skimped on bigs in order to dominate in FT%, 3PT %, 3's, Steals, AST, and A/T Ratio. I was successful in doing that, so I've got some room to work trades.
I've got my league's stats laid out on a spreadsheet and I'm 1st or 2nd in 7 of the 12 categories, but I'm dead last in all 3 rebounding slots and it worries me that I'm giving up 3 cats every week guaranteed. I also need some blocks to compete there.
So here's my breakdown of the Vince Carter for Ilgauskas swap...
Pros
FG% up
3PT% up (my team % is higher than Carter's %, so moving him actually helps)
Off. Reb up
Def. Reb up
Rebounds up
Blocks up
Cons
3PTM down (I can afford this and still lead the cat)
Assists down (I can afford this and still lead the cat)
A/T ratio down (I can afford this and still lead the cat)
Steals down
Points down
Neutral
FT%
So when you look at the names it seems like I'm giving up too much, but I think it actually makes sense for me. What do you guys think? Should I offer someone other than Carter? Maybe a combo of players? Here's my roster, followed by the roster of the person I want to get Big Z from...
Chris Paul
Vince Carter
Rashard Lewis
Andre Miller
Steve Nash
Rasheed Wallace
Andrei Kirilenko
Al Harrington
Ray Allen
Anthony Parker
Paul Millsap
Derek Fisher
Jamario Moon
Daniel Gibson
J.R. Smith
Brook Lopez
Carl Landry
Ronny Turiaf
Erick Dampier
Deron Williams
Koby Bryant
Andre Iguodala
Stephen Jackson
Lamar Odom
Al Horford
Mike Miller
Tayshaun Prince
Yao Ming
Spencer Hawes
Shane Battier
Linas Kleiza
James Posey
Nicolas Batum
Eddie House
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Rudy Fernandez
Chris Duhon
Chuck Hayes

You want boards? Target Al Horford before you go for big Z. And if you're going for Z, giving him Carter straight up is a horrible deal for you. Ask for more. Z got 8 boards a game last year, Carter got 6 so it's not that big of an improvement.

Ilgauskas actually averaged 9.3 rebounds last year so I think you're looking at this year (after 1 game). Do you think that Horford will up his rebounds and blocks significantly this year? His FG% should be better, and his FT% is decent enough, but if his rebounds and blocks aren't up then he makes no more sense than Z.

Ha, you're right I did look at his numbers from the first game Main point remains, you should be able to get more for Carter.
Got any ideas for a 2 for 2 swap including Carter and Z (or Horford)?
What about Carter & Gibson for Z (or Horford) & Duhon?
Seems fair?
I think Horford and Duhon is a sneaky deal for VC and Gibson. Gibson has no value this year. I might try and get more, but I think Duhon is a bigtime sleeper. I of course could be wrong.
But yeah if you can get it, Duhon could look like a poor man's Kidd.
Although i think Raps is drinking the Duhon Koolaid pretty heavily
I am loving Duhon this year!!! for fantasy that is
Although, I do think that Ray and VC should fetch more then Horford and MM or Odom, if on name value only. That is why I say try and get Duhon in a 3 for 3 as Duhon has bad name value.
Is this a joke? VC is JJ, Pierce, Iggy, or J-Rich caliber.
These players are nothing compared to VC.
Read what my needs are.
I don't need Vince's points, assists, 3's, 3pt % (which is likely below my squad's average). How much is he really worth without those categories...? FG% and FT% between the two players is nearly a wash, with the edge going to Z in FG%. Above all else I need rebounds (they essentially count 3x in my league!) and I need blocks.
So going on name and reputation, VC looks a lot better for my team than he actual is.
