Whatever you do, don't drink right after getting them removed. I remember I got mine removed when I was 18, drank the next night, then the next day I was spitting out blood like crazy.

I didn't have all 4 removed at the same time though, I had mine taken off 2 at a time.

Getting my wisdom teeth pulled actually helped me quit smoking. I decided to ignore my dentist when she told me to not smoke for atleast 72 hours. Ended up getting a dry socket. After the pain I went through, I never touched a cig again for like 2 years.

This thread interests me.

I went to the dentist for a cleaning a couple weeks ago and the guy said I will have to eventually get mine removed.

Comforting to know it doesn't hurt that much. Sucks that you are getting them removed during finals. I wouldn't be able to concentrate with the combination of presumed pain and drowsiness.

If they are simple extractions than it should be quick with little swelling. I still have one left that I was told I would need surgery..it's a little more complicated. Two were easy with no swelling. The first was extracted when I was in boot camp since it was infected. My face swelled up and I could not eat solids for almost 2 weeks..while in boot camp. I lost 20lbs practically in those two weeks alone. When I graduated basic training I was a toothpick.

I had a very positive experience with mine. I got all four removed, only had to take pain meds for a day, and played through Ocarnia of Time and Majora's mask while eating ice cream

I never had mine taken out. Never had a problem with them. My brother however had the worst experience I've ever seen with them. They compacted so much that they broke inside his gums. They wound up have to open up the gum and go get the pieces. It looked like he had about two dozen wisdom teeth. They were just all broken up.
