So far from what I've heard:

- Rasheed Wallace is meeting with the Spurs sometime this week
- The Spurs are also showing interest in free agent Channing Frye and a couple other big man prospects.

Ive actually heard Frye might be a Sun, although Id rather Chris Wilcox.

As far as the Spurs are concerned, I think Rasheed would be a very good fit for you guys. Also, Chris Wilcox is a great hustle player who could really help bring some more youth and energy to the Spurs.

I'd like to have Rasheed. Not only does he finally give us an on paper center but also will be able to spread the floor and give us more depth.

Frye to the Suns doesn't sound bad at all, but I do hope you all end up trading Ben Wallace for Tyson Chandler. That would be great for the Suns.

So turns out spurs are not gonna get sheed. They get haislip instead. If this is official, I kinda like it more than getting an old wallace.

So Rasheed Wallace is officially off the market and it looks like he's headed to Boston.

Meanwhile, the Spurs are looking strongly at other big men options. There was a rumor surfacing that we were going to present an offer sheet to Glenn "Big Baby" Davis of the Boston Celtics. Reports said they were willing to offer him the full MLE to lure him in. Of course, the Celtics would be able to match any offer he receives as he is a restricted free agent. But after getting Wallace, it is unlikely they will do so. These rumors about Davis have quickly died down however, and it is more likely that the Spurs are after veteran forward Antonio McDyess.

According to several sources we are in the lead to get McDyess but he has yet to make a commitment to any team as of now. As we would have to David, we are also most likely offering McDyess the full mid-level exception.

Word has been spreading that we have reached an agreement with big man Antonio McDyess for a 3 year deal, with the third year having a player option. I will keep this thread updated as more news is released.

EDIT:

Information via Hoopsworld:

Quote:
The Rich Get Richer: Former Piston forward Antonio McDyess has agreed to join the San Antonio Spurs. Word is he'll sign a three-year deal with two years fully guaranteed and a third non-guaranteed year. McDyess coming off the market also changes the path of Brandon Bass. Rumor has it that New Orleans and Orlando are the strongest suitors for Bass, however sources close to Brandon's camp say with McDyess leaving Detroit, the Pistons - who have a little bit of change left under the salary cap after deals with Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva - will pursue Bass.
