Default Mavs sign Magloire

It is a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum. Good to see them get a replacement for Diop in the rotation.

Pretty good pick up. He played good when he was on winning teams but he can get very lazy and argumenitive with coaches when things are not going his way.

But on the court he is a solid back up center. Average at everything.

good deal. Sounds like a good #2 center.

I wonder who the Mavs will get for #15 after Barry rejoins the Spurs and Cassell goes to Boston..maybe Gricerek?

Good pickup with Damp being the only big man. Just need him to provide some rebounding and defense for a few minutes a game. Some people have mentioned Flip Murray. I wouldn't mind them giving Justin Williams a look for cheap.

Since Avery has committed to Terry being his starting SG from here on out, we look a bit thin at PG.

Im hoping #15 is a PG...

I think Avery is sending Jet to the bench early for Stack, so that he can come in an spell Kidd at pg. He also seems to be playing with George being a point forward and bringing up the ball and initiating the offense at times. Just as long as he doesn't try Josh at the point forward. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

Was watching the Sonics\Warriors game last night. Sonics traded West and Watson was out sick. That left Ridnour as the only point. When he went out they used Gelable at point. Man was it ugly.

This helps Dallas offset the loss of Diop. I am interested to see how he does.

The West playoffs will be decided by the bigs

Duncan, Thomas
Oneal, Stoudemire
Okur, Boozer
Gasol, Bynum?
Dirk, Dampier/Magloire
Chandler, West

hopefully that won't be an issue this time around judging by how things went in jersey.

with the nets, magloire got to play very little mainly due to the sudden development of sean williams and josh boone. but he reportedly busted his ass in practice and kept a very professional attitude and said all the right things.

just speculating here, but perhaps he's realised at this point in his career that he's no longer a commodity and fortunate to be playing at this level.

When he was in Milwaukee, he played extremely well. I thnk he was almost average a double double for a stretch in the early part of the season. He's just had the bad luck of ending up on teams deep at the position (Bogut, Gadzuric) (Pryzbilla, Aldridge, Frye) (Krystic, Williams, Boone, Swift). If he gets enough touches in the paint he could be a good a player as Kurt Thomas. He just doesnt have that short jump shot that Thomas does.
