Not really. Past little bit was kinda hard even tho he did what was best for him. When a guy straight up doesn't want to play for your team it's hard to keep the love alive. I was never really a die hard Melo fan anyways tbh. Can't deny his talent tho and IMO is still a very underrated player and always has been. Knicks fans will see it. Get's called just a scorer but he's a potential double double threat with his rebounding on some nights. Defense when he actually tries to play it is actually pretty good. So if you got a team making noise in the playoffs(like '08 Denver) you'll get defense out of him.
Personally think Melo in NY will be as motivated as ever. He'll never be elite like a LeBron\Wade\Kobe\Howard but there's no reason why he can't play and compete with the guy's that come after that. Esp when you factor in his ability to finish games.

I think 20+ years is long enough to be a Knicks fan. I have always liked Dirk, and the Mavs are looking pretty good right now...

Its no worse a B. The Knicks are better with the new team now then the one they had pre all star break. Doesn't mean they are a championship team but they are better.
Again, the Knicks plan is to form a Big 3. In order to do this all those guys they traded would have to be gone by the end of next season anyway.
Its irrelevent when they get rid of them because they wouldnt be taken any multi year deals back.

Trading a franchise player in his prime for role players is a D+?
So why did we keep Pat Ewing for so long? We should have traded him away for pieces back in like 1990.

Patrick never said he wanted to get traded to lets say Orlando. Knicks had leverage but ended up bidding against themselves out of fear that he'd agree to an extension with the nets. Melo could have made it easy and shut down any nets rumors but he didn't.
We gutted our team for a single player. I'm not mad that we did it but there's no denying that we gave up too much.

Only from the Knicks' perspective. The Nuggets got a lot more than they should have, so if you average it out, it's like, a C+ trade. If that makes you feel better.
What's funny is, all throughout these dealings, we kept making fun of the supposed idiots in the Nuggets' front office. We forgot about our own ace(s) in the hole...

it's harsh but there's nothing wrong with it, Prokorov played us hard and we didn't call him on his bluff.
I have no doubt that we could have had him for Curry/Gallo if we waited till the deadline.
Dolan was just afraid that they'd miss out on another superstar so they pulled the trigger.

Re: Nuggets trade Carmelo Anthony to Knicks!
Chandler would have gone anyways.
Felton for Billups.
Gallo, Mozgov and picks for Melo.
That looks good to me.
I am not familiar with your grades system, but I'd give it a 7.5/10.

Yes, I meant from the Knicks perspective. D+ for Knicks. A+ for Denver.
Everything Sheridan said was true. This wasn't a "normal" trade. Knicks had plenty of leverage but got pushed around by Denver and Melo's team. The Knicks should have did the pushing. Force Melo or Denver to make the tough decision. And if we lose Melo to Nets? So be it. We still have all our assets, all our young players, all our flexibility for the next star that wanted to join us.
The Knicks used none of that. An Isiah Thomas masterpiece. Gross.
Everything went into "We must get Melo at any cost!!!" mode. When you do that, you already lost.
But there's no arguing this with both the media and the clueless New York fan frenzy "We got Melo!!!!!".
The person I feel worst for is Donnie Walsh. I really hope he just quits....like right after the trade deadline. I think that would be awesome....save some face and get away from Dolan/Isiah.

In any other situation, that would be a good trade (except for the Billups part, I wouldn't expect much from him).
The Knicks spent five dollars when when they could have spent two. Another in the long line of questionable decisions as James Dolan cements his chump status.

Melo reaching us in FA wasn't a given at all.

Who cares? He isn't Michael Jordan. He isn't LeBron. Worst case scenario, he's rich, unheralded, and ringless in New Jersey or Denver.
