Default A colleague of mine passed away....

Just a couple of hours ago. He was a doctor who worked in our home office doing clinical research for our brand.
What was eerie is that this morning we did a company conference and he announce he was leaving the company to go back to work in a clinic. We all wished him good luck. A couple of hours later he was found hunched over in his chair gasping for air. Our owner did mouth to mouth to try and resuscitate him. He went into a comma. Ambulance came and got him. I just got the call from another colleague he died.
The man was only 42, healthy and lean, and was a guru when it came to nutrition. He ate as clean as can be and exercised regularly. You would not think a guy in his physical condition would die like that. Still unknown of the actual cause. I'll find out after the weekend.
Makes me conscious of me own well being. I look at my son and think to myself how much it would hurt him if I left this world. Absolutely nobody should take their life for granted

Sorry to hear that. Yeah i've been very conscious of my mortality this past year or two. I'm figuring out that I can't drive myself crazy about it and to leave that to the powers that be. Also, I can't beat myself up if I don't take every single precaution because its just not possible. We need to accept that our body each day is getting older so to make the best out of each day and appreciate the things we do have and to not take yourself too seriously.

That's very unfortunate. Did he leave a family behind?

He didn't have a family of his own. No girlfriend, no kids. He had a brother in Italy and a mother in Dallas. The boss had to break the news to her tonight as there is no other formal connection to his mother.

I will. I'm very curious as to how.
When I talked to my other colleague he did mention that he was going through a lot of personal things. We were just talking this morning and he made a comment about how he loved this company and being impressed by all his colleagues and how talented we are. Him going back to working in a clinic was a personal choice. So weird how his last words to us were so endearing and then he's gone
