Default Is Donovan Mitchell The New Dwyane Wade?

He's so similar to D Wade stylistically its scary. I heard about the hype, only now since the postseason I've gotten a chance to check him out.

His game 2 against the Thunder had me in awe so I had to check out more of his game. The skill/craft, combined with elite athleticism is uncanny.

The scary thing is, he's more of a 3pt shooter that D Wade.

Most importantly, he is also he is a big game player and clutch.

Why Donovan Mitchell is the next D Wade

Echoing what I posted in the OKC/Utah thread.

Mitchell's step-back crossover is like watching a young Wade circa 2005.

Yup. He even has the spinmoves/floaters. Great finishing ability. He is a threat from anywhere.

What I like too is that he is 6' 3"/215. I never realized he was such a big dude. He's listed as 10 pounds heavier than Westbrook.

Mitchell shoots better from the 3 point line. Wade is a better passer.

I think that's a great comparison. Stylistically, I don't think people realize the INFLUENCE Wade has had on these 6'4 athletic guards. Olidipo, Fultz, and now Mitchell are all compared to D Wade. But I think Mitchell is gonna be closest one though.

Wade is on the Mt. Rushmore in terms of combining great scoring, freak athletic ability, great defense, and great all around ability on the perimeter. MJ, Bron, and Mamba would be the other three with him. For Mitchell to TRULY get to the Wade level or close, he MUST become a true total package.

For players 6'4 and under, Wade is THE BEST PLAYER of all time peak wise! He's one of the small amount of 6'4 and under players who can impact a game in a fashion similar to the bigger SG's or wings. By that I mean having the athletic ability and skillset that resembles those types of guys.

Mitchell is a real stud, he looks like Young Wade minus the passing ability and with a better 3pt shooting.

Of course prime/peak Wade is on other tier, but Donovan has a bright future.

I think Wade is an okay comparison, but Wade was a lot more athletic and explosive.

Mitchell definitely has interesting scoring ability, but he doesn't have the insane explosiveness and playmaking ability that Wade had.

Wade was a better slasher, better passer and better post scorer as a rookie.

Mithell is a better 3pt shooter.

They are different players to be honest. I see greatness in Mitchell but his game will not resemble Wade.

Mitchell has a much higher vertical but yeah Wade could get up effortlessly and had better body control but then again the kids only a rookie.

Is he actually 6'3?

I saw him listed as 6'1 on draftexpress, where as Wade is a legit 6'3.5 in bare feet. Really should be listed as a 6'5 guard with shoes.

Both Mitchell and Diplo remind me of Wade. Very good SGs.
