Default NBA.com "Melo's Recent Run Creates 'What Ifs"

    http://www.nba.com/mvp-ladder/?ls=iref:nbahpt6e

What would the Kia Race to the MVP Ladder have been like if Carmelo Anthony had never gotten hurt, of the New York Knicks didn't suffer through injury after injury to key players and didn't slump midway through the season?
Agree 100%. All the starting five was injured at on point or another, sometimes at the same time, on top of that bench got injured as well.

Knicks would probably be a 60 wins team, and if Melo didn't had the knee problem he would have notched a couple more 40 points games, and he isn't on a stacked team that dominate the spurs with the bench.

It would be Player leading his team Vs Player cherry picking thanks to his team.

Melo winning MVP would be worse than Drose winning it

I'm confused. Melo is leading his team in only PPG right? There's somebody else to do everything on his team. He's not a playmaker. Not defending the best player on the opposite team. Not the defensive anchor. Not the rebounding specialists. Just leading in PPG. What player is cherry picking? Is this player leading his team in PPG, steals, rebounds, blocks, assists and shit like that?

Melo never had a realistic chance of winning MVP.

When Melo scores 30+ on 60% 6 times in a row and leads his team to 27-straight as well as leading in Assists and Rebounds, then we'll talk.

When Bron has the oldest team in the league and no other legit superstar in his team, then we'll talk.

Because the MVP is always given to the best player in the league.

    Oh wait. No it isn't.

Melo is the first player to score 40+ on 60% in 3 games straight games since some guy who once played for the Wizards.

LeBron's longer streak of 60% shooting (fewer points, but still...) and the 27-game winning streak along with defense, rebounding, and assists > Melo's cute 3 game streak.

Yeah a guy who never lead his team anywhere in playoffs compared to a giy who has played in 3 championships and is pretty much a constant deep in playoffs all career long.
