But at least they tried to do something.
My Mavericks try to to nothing.

how so?
They will excell in uptempo ball as Kaman and Camby run the floor well for bigs, Kaman is an excellent ball handler and passer for a center. They would have the most explosive 1,2, and 3 combo in the league. B. Diddy can lead the break and finish himself with power, and he will have 2 guys on wings with 40" verticals.
In halfcourt, Kaman operates in the post, hi or low, Camby usually scores off midrange jumpshots when his man helps stop guard penetration. Thornton is a slasher but also can hit 3s, Baron Davis can slash and penetrate himself and has lots of range. Eric Gordon and Mobley can space the floor from the 2. Thornton, Gordon, and Davis all draw fouls well cause they are strong enough to finish around the rim and draw contact. Camby also can be a pick setter on offense, and Gordon has a very good pull up jumper and already knows how to pull up for an open jumpshot off a screen.
Rebounding and Defense should be ok
Camby 13 rpg and 3.6 bpg
Kaman 12.7 rpg and 2.8 bpg
plus, the team is very quick besides Kaman, as long as they give effort and remain active on d will cause turnovers, deflections, defend 3s fairly well.
They also have a solid bench with some very capable proven veterans in Cuttino Mobley, Brevin Knight, and Tim Thomas.

Re: Marcus Camby Traded To Clippers
OK, so the Nuggets get a $10 million exemption against their cap, right? Presumably they have someone in mind for that money?
Either way, this one seems kind of strange to me. I mean sure Camby may not be ideal to play PF, but obviously the Clippers are a better team than they were yesterday, while the Nuggets are, for the moment, much worse. Kaman and Camby should be a great defensive frontcourt duo, and both of them are capable if unspectacular scorers, whose ppg totals could go up with Baron running the point. And the Clippers still have $6 million to throw at a SG? And they got an unbelievable steal IMO drafting DeAndre Jordan in the second round (the kid may not be driven, but come on, he should have at least gone first round!). Wow, they are in decent shape considering how Elton is now "Branded" a traitor.
And the Nuggets are now very thin in the frontcourt with the losses of Najera and now Camby and getting nothing in return. Another injury to Kenyon or Nene and they are straight ****ed, so I assume they are going to make a move for a new big man.

since when are the clippers an uptempo team though ? i am telling you these pieces do not fit man... baron will probably have his worst season with this team. this teams offense is already looking like its going to depend heavily on gordon and thorton, (a rookie and a sophmore) because camby and kaman aren't scorers and baron can't do alone, and he can't do it every night anyway, he's as streaky as they come. this is not a good team at all. the 3pt shooting is going to be atrocious... what is this teams identity ?

baron, thornton, and kaman are all capable of putting up points. eric gordon can shoot the lights out, and its not like camby is ben wallace.
yeah they're not the suns on offense but they're also not the suns on defense. if everyone stays healthy and they work hard to find their chemistry, they could have a very good, competitive balance of offense and defense.

Re: Marcus Camby Traded To Clippers
To make it better for the Clippers, we don't deal a 2nd rounder, we deal an option to SWAP 2nd rounders in 2010.
http://www.latimes.com/sports/nation...1,941938.story
The Clippers acquired center Marcus Camby from the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday for the option to exchange second-round picks with Los Angeles in 2010.Camby led the NBA in blocked shots with 3.61 per game last season, only the second player in league history to do so in three straight seasons.

I mean just looking at the trade for us..
we get an option to swap 2nd deal round pick...
Okey fair, if the deal was about clearing some space then...why didnt we send camby to a eastern conference team? why the heck the clippers?
Jesus, our management never stop to amaze me..

Best part is, now we have 26 mil or so in expirings in the 2010 offseason and SHOULD have the Wolves pick as well. Two deals we made that have/should help us in the short term, but now, can make us great a couple years from now unless the brass phucks up[Other trade I'm referring too is the Marko Jaric/Lionel Chalmers for Sam Cassell/1st Rounder Swap]

i mean they really gave camby up for absolutely nothing.
they must be looking to make a move in free agency next year. because with iverson expiring that's 20 mil, and now with camby's 10M gone, they're basically shedding 30 million over the next year between those two.

Camby expires in 2010, along with T2 and Mobley and gives us 7.5 mil more to waste around, plus, with his contract being around 8 mil, we still have enough to try to chase JR Smith[we have about 6 mil now considering Jordan and Taylor]. If not JR, Barnes/Gomes/Smith[Craig] can be solid additions as well.
We don't have our MLE but we have around that amount to spend.
Why the hell would you go after JR Smith when you just drafted Eric Gordon.

agreed that would seem kinda redundant, i think a guy like matt barnes or kelenna azabuike would make a lot more sense, altho to sign azabuike they'd probably have to pay him starter money but obviously wouldnt be able to start him. too bad tho, i love azabuike
