Default Derrick Rose says he wishes there was no NBA salary cap for rookies

Which isn't particularly surprising, considering he's the NBA MVP and being paid on a rookie salary scale

I completely disagree with him on this. How many "great" high school/college players turned out to be busts? It would be absolutely stupid to pay a player "Kobe" money or "LeBron" money right out of the draft.

I have to strongly disagree here. Look at the NFL where the first 3 picks are pretty much determined one qb agent tells team #1 don't pick my client cuz he is not signing for less than 60 mil and will hold out if you don't have papers for him ready if you guys pick him while team #3 has a 70 mil contract waiting for him.

This is why NBA players should not get involved with the business side of things. You want to play bball for a living and get treated like a super hero everywhere you go and get paid 40 mil guaranteed before you have your first practice as a pro??? Sorry drose but leave the business for the business men.

maybe if the team wanted to sign a long term extension for less than vet max and it would equal out. like paying rose 8 years 10 mill each year. instead of 4 years rookie salary then 6 years of max 16 mil
