I've always liked this comparison because it's a double comparison that is quite consistent.
Also, James & Nadal are athletically outstanding Vs. Bryant & Federer being technically outstanding.
(of course, this doesn't mean that James & Nadal are technically weak and Bryant & Federer athletically poor)
Re: Pick 2 Athletes from different sports who are alike/comparable
Bryant and Federer is the best comparison I've seen so far, as well as Tiger and MJ.
Here is an odd one which most people won't care about, but I just thought of it.
Mario Balotelli and DeMarcus Cousins.
For those who don't know, Balotelli is a young Ghanaian, now Italian footballer who plays for Manchester City. He has all the talent in the world and could potentially be an incredible player, but he has a very short temper, bad work ethic and a generally poor attitude towards some of the coaching staff around him. Childish tendencies if you will, especially seeing some of his reactions if a referee's call has gone against him etc. Both are 20 years old, both born in August, still with much to learn in their respective sports, and in life too. Both could really do with a bit of growing up.
There are similarities to Cousins, but on a much smaller scale. The short temper being the main one. Balotelli is slightly more volatile than Cousins though, I would say.
