Default Should the Knicks trade one of there SF's?

Should the Knicks trade Gallo or Chandler this summer?

That is a position of strength this summer with better and more proven players. This will help the Knicks improve the starting 5 since the Knicks are not going to be able to develop both players.

(pssssssssssssssst, only "if we know" we're signing Bron. Then losing either one won't sting as bad).

Wilson Chandler played the 2 very well this season and will only get better. His mid range game is starting to become automatic as well as his ability to drive it to the whole. Since December he's been averaging around 17+ppg.. But.... If we have the chance to trade him for a good young center like Kevin Love or who ever we need to do it. Our biggest weakness is how we get owned by opposing bigs. Chandler at the 2, Gallo at the 3 is a good combo which I like. For them to be around 22yrs old(Both) they are both showing good production despite being both young. Chandler is a SG.. I think everyone knows our biggest weakness is center and pg, David Lee is not a center..

Kevin Love + David Lee grab every rebound possible. Both good passers.
I'd like to keep Chandler btw.
Like you said he has played way better than the first part of the season. Gallo's defense has improved significantly, I like to see that. We have two good players for the two and the three. Only problem is; there are no good point guard in this years FA market. Like IDunk mentioned in another thread, getting Willie Warren in the draft might not be a bad idea (2nd round). He could be a good backup pg for us.

Center:
Amar'e Stoudemire (prefer him at pf, but he can play the 5 in this system)
Marcus Camby
Brendan Haywood
Ben Wallace

Sergio Rodriguez / Willie Warren / Toney Douglas
Joe Johnson / Eddie House
Wilson Chandler / Danilo Gallinari (sorry Bano )
David Lee / Carl Landry / Amir Johnson
Amar'e Stoudemire / Brendan Haywood

Eddy Curry

I dont think the money would work, but we have the Bird rights for David right?

or:
(if we can get Amar'e by sign-and-trading David Lee)
we somehow get Ramon Sessions by using the expiring contract of Eddy?

Ramon Sessions / Willie Warren / Toney Douglas
Joe Johnson / Anthony Morrow
Wilson Chandler / Danilo Gallinari
Amar'e Stoudemire / Carl Landry / Amir Johnson
Brendan Haywood / Marcus Camby

very unlikely since this is a big team (we all know that D'Antoni prefers small teams.

Carmelo Anthony was born in New York, I could see him playing for us.
(remember: David Lee does not get a max contract + we get rid of Eddy Curry) and the cap is higher

insert name / Willie Warren / Toney Douglas
Wilson Chandler (Restricted FA in 2011) / insert name
Carmelo Anthony / Danilo Gallinari
David Lee / Carl Landry / Amir Johnson
Amar'e Stoudemire / Brendan Haywood

I'd trade either one for a top 10 pick in a heartbeat. Preferably Gallo

Because of his potential that could be possible.... I think I would rather wait on Gallo because he is long and can shoot. I have no problems trading Chandler he isnt special. Decent role player.

With Walker in our stable, Wilson just might be expendable now. You know Galli isn't going anywhere. D'Antoni played ball with his dad, back in the day, in Italy.

I also like Gallo more even though Chandler is the better player. Something about Gallo makes you think he's gonna be a great player and he seems like a winner.

Our plan.. Trade Eddy Curry for either Ben Gordon or Emeka Ofafor, still leads us to have room to sign 2 max FA's or 1 and half if we keep Lee. Sign Bosh+Wade to max?

Wade
Chandler
Gallo
Bosh
Okafor

Or keep Lee, trade for Gordon, Sign Amare and some one else.
?
Gordon
Gallo
Lee
Amare
with Chandler, Walker, Douglas, signings on the bench

We will have a good team by the start of the 2010 season! There's a lot of options for us to go and we will have a new talented roster and not the same old junk we've been having for the past seasons.. Curry can get us 1-2 good players with his garbage expirer.
