Basketball HOF is a joke, easily the worst of all the major sports for various reasons.

Yes absolutely Penny was a 6'7 real point guard. I think GHill was more of a prototypical two way wing player. Hill might be the better player but I think Penny was more unique. 6'7 with a nasty crossover and legit b2b game. Very agile with hops. He could pull off crazy layups a la Jordan. Penny had 'it'.

Longevity matters. But kids nowadays don't understand that. Instant gratification and ADD. One great year? HOF Baby!

But alas... longevity matters. Grant Hill has a better resume in the pros and in college. Penny could have been a hall of famer, had he had longevity.

This is stupid. Making the hall isn't about what you could have done, it's about what you did...and it isn't just about NBA accolades.

Penny has literally no logical or rational argument that he should be in the hall.

You make it sound like Penny played 3 years and has done nothing in the playoffs.
I am not saying he should be in but Penny averaged 20 pts and 6 rebs in 8 PLAYOFF YEARS. Atleast 3 of those years were post Major injury stats and I am not talking about 4 great peak years of regular season basketball the fizzles out in the playoffs, Penny actually averaged 25 and 8 in the finals. If he didn't have chokers and have clutch shooters instead, he would have had 1 ring.
Stockton who never had a major injury, got into the HOF with 13 pts in both regular season and playoffs. Take away 2 peak playoff years early in his career and that 13pt average would surely plummet.

Stockton is also the all-time assist leader (and it's not even close) and the all time steals leader (and again, it's not even close)

So.....

Secondly, you do know that college is taken into account correct? Grant Hill was one of the greatest college players ever.

Gilbert Arenas had 3 monster seasons and peaked higher than Penny did.

He wont make the hof either.

More shoulda, coulda's.

Stockon: All time leader in assists (dwarfs Kidd who is in second place), 10x all-star, 9x APG leader, 2x SPG leader, 11x all-nba, 5x all-defensive. Made the playoffs every year he was in the league.

vs.

Hardaway: 4x all-star, 3x all-nba

...real head scratcher why Stockon is in and Penny isn't

This fool just tried to use PPG as his sole argument
