Default Speeding ticket question

Alright, I just got a speeding ticket going 49 in a 35mph school zone. But on the ticket it says the speed limit was 30 and no mention of a school zone. Could I get this dismissed? Or is going 49 in 30 better off than 49 in 35 school zone?

I would just pay it before they fix the mistake and you end up paying twice as much.

Do you have a lot of tickets? Is this going to matter to your license status, etc? Chances are you go to court, they knock it down a little, you pay, you're done.

Note: It's better the ticket not in the school zone. Zones double fines at times.

Nah man I don't even speed like that. Was going as fast as the other cars in front of me so he pulled me over because I was behind them. It's a school zone but no school there, just some church. I'll probably just do online defensive driving.

If you have a good driving record, challenge it and state that fact. I had a ticket dismissed in this way.

Not editorializing one way or another, but you obviously do "speed like that" if he pulled you over going 50 in a 35.

You are making the mistake (one I've often made) of thinking the laws are actually there to protect you and others, or that they are derived from common sense.

The government is there to take your money. You just have to pay the mafia a little appeasement to get them off your back, that's all.

The cop was probably doing you a favor by saying it was in a 35 instead of saying a 30 AND a school zone. IMO your lucky

I'd just pay the fine. Just like someone else mentioned, if the cop put down that it was in a school zone, you'd have been screwed worse. Fines double in school and/or construction zones.
