Default Why do Lakers fans feel entitled to superstars

Your core is signed with big contracts and was planned to be like this for a few more years. But now that they weren't successful all the Lakers fans think they'll blow up the team and that they'll get and that they deserve Dwight Howard or Chris Paul (some even think they'll get both).

    What the hell? Get real.

Because the whole city is made up of superstars, a team has to take the personality of the city.

Just give us CP3 and some good lottery picks and I'll be happy.. even though it looks like he's pretty content on the Busch league team of LA

I think Laker fans will be just fine. They can just jump ship to the Warriors.

The bigger question is why do fans of other teams support a team that's ownership does everything it can to avoid taking on big contracts

Lakers are not the only team with superstars on their roster, they never have been but there are teams that year after year purposely avoid big contract players.. what kind of fan support that type of loser mentality

as for lakers fans, huge market, year after year one of the most profitable teams in the league, massive fan base... ownership has always spent the money and it shows with those 16 banners hanging from the rafters

Same reason children with rich parents who spoil them grow up to feel entitled.

players should wanna come to LA because

    a) its the most popular franchise

    b) its the most consistent franchise ( reached half of the nba finals, won 16 )

    c) its in the 2nd biggest market

    d) its history of legends ( people wanna be in the same uniform )

    e) its ability to grow careers/earn bigger pay days/get more popular than you would in other places

    f) its dedication to its fans

    g) becoming a celebrity

    h) the climate

    i) playing with a possible idol or respected legend

    j) getting more women due to the elevated status

    k) possibly having a future job with the organization via commentary/office work

    l) learning from another legend or past legends like kareem/kobe/magic and more

    j) chance to meet movie stars or singers/ other celebrities/ becoming friends

    k) getting into better parties/clubs

    L) getting more allstar votes

    M) having more media coverage/exposure

    probably a ton more reasons

It's not just Lakers fans. It's all fans of the biggest cities. They all have this stupid entitlement sense, just like welfare queens to their food stamps. It's basically not any surprise that the most obnoxious fans across all sports are generally from NY, LA, Chicago.

Honorable mention to Boston (mostly Patriots, Red Sox) and Dallas (Cowboys).

Makes zero sense. Fans of cross state teams generally don't cheer their rivals. They either hate them or are neutral. Very rarely do they root for them. No one I know in Houston cheers for SA or Dallas.

They're like Real Madrid or Barcelona. Top players naturally gravitate towards them because of their team history and prestige.

And because they have a sh*t ton of money.

Cause we've always had a superstar on the team, even multiple top 10 players of all time at the same period (West, Wilt) (KAJ, Magic) (Kobe, Shaq).

But, if you are a Laker hater (which I suspect) you are in luck.

Let me paint a picture, the Lakers are the rich spoiled kid that has lost it all, broke as fvck and doesn't know how to live, life is constantly punching him in the mouth and he's taking it crying in fetal position while getting raped by a homeless man.

The homeless man is Jim Buss.

I was obviously just talking shit. I saw a picture of a HS friend who is a Laker(Kobe) fan rocking a brand new GSW hat on facebook.
