So, to make it more interesting, I'll add a player comparison question: When I compile all-time lists, one of the hardest tasks comes around #10, when having to pick between Olajuwon vs Doctor. When we compare NBA careers alone, it's pretty easilt Hakeem. Actually, it's hard for Doctor to make it above #17-20. But the ABA years can't be neglected.
Look at both the stats and the accolades. And of course, at the cultural impact of Erving.
The ABA's quality of guards and centers was inferior to the NBA's. But the forwards were there: Erving, Barry, Cunningham, Gervin (could play at SF), Issel...Connie Hawkins was there in 1968-69.
