I consider Delfino to be the most overrated defensive player on the Raptors. He's average at keeping players in front of him and is one of the worst at always being in "no man's land" not rotating on the help D.

Parker has good fundamentals but looks really slow this year. He just doesn't stay with people nearly as well as he did last year. He doesn't close out on shooters quickly enough either.

No doubt about it that Parker is slowing but he's still the best we have and that speaks to the level of defense that the Raps have.

It needs to be addressed.

Mind you Calderon has good fundamentals with his aggresive defensive and his general awareness on the court. But then again both are weak, and Parker is not exactly quick.

this is the euro-ball everyone was so excited for. It works well when everyone is hitting 3's and it works well if steve nash is running the point with amare and marion running the court. For us it is not as consistent.

Clapping is not a fundamental.

we have to have a philosophy, and commit to it, and hard. If we double, hard doubles to force a TO, or no double at all, simple as that. We're struggling to find an identity for ourselves on the defensive side of court, and it all begins with the lack of team philosophy on defense. Smitch has got to turn this around. When we went 7-7 w/o Bosh last year, we played great D considering we had no interior defender and now, we're getting burned by players like Beno Udrih (no offense to Beno, solid player in his own right)

You can't argue he is a generally smart player on both sides of the court whether it be double teaming or rotating, but mind you he doesn't have the physicality to compete with guys playing his position.
