Being dark skinned is considered UGLY in Chinese culture, plain and simple. It also makes people think you are a peasant instead of a city (read wealthy or cultured) person.

Let me out it this way. A sweatshop to you = decent wages for a Chinese. Does it entail incredibly tough working hours? Yes, but at the time there were little other options. Would you rather those people didn't have jobs or worked on subsistence farming?
Btw I think your data is out of date. In the major cities, the manufacturing industry actually needs to raise wages because ppl are refusing to work for them cause of better pay in electronics and other industries

I would think at some point they are going to have a revolution. They are bringing in too much western product, too much western culture, allowing travel so easily overseas, etc. You allow people out, you bring in ideas. No one wants to have their thinking, their freedom to what they want curtailed as much as it is.
Man, I shouldn't have started looking into how disgusting some Chinese people are. I'm not against a culture eating cats or dogs if it's a tradition, but the way they treat them, the way acquire them, and the way they kill them is terrible.

I think lots of things about China are good, for example acupuncture, and their strong, if extremely unhealthy, sense of work ethic.

Considering how hard they work you'd think atleast they'd put out quality products, but the Chinese code seems to be as long as it looks good on the outside, it doesnt matter how f*cked up and quickly done it is on the inside.
