He should be viewed as top 10...but not #1 overall any more

He needs to look for a 2 year deal for like $12m

Lacy getting $5.5m this year...

Who would you rather have Lacy or Peterson?

i would rather have neither at that price

i would spend $1.5m on someone like alfred morris and $2.5m on someone like woodhead and have money left over

Guess Sanchez was a good mentor for Prescott. Was always in his ear during the whole year.

Now that I think about I mean Sanchez career did start off as high as you could get similar to Dak so maybe he was there to humble him. Who knows lol.

At least we got a decent backup. I mean I'd take Sanchez over Hoyer just on the basis that he's gonna at least not play conservative 100% of the time.

But this probably means we are not going to draft a QB til round 2. Unless we trade up at the end of the 1st. Possibly Kizer, Mahomes. Or hell maybe even Kaaya or Kelly in Rd 3/4.

Peterson much better than Morris or Wood...thank god Dallas didn't want to settle on Morris

That view can only come from "the guy who runs with the ball doesn't matter"

Would you want to skim a few mill like that at the QB position?

no doubt peterson has more raw running talent than either of them, but like i said earlier he sucks running out of shotgun, he cant block, and he cant catch.

there is no way i would waste $5m on a 32 year old RB coming off a major injury who cant play on 3rd downs and needs his QB to take snaps under center to be effective.

with a combo like morris + woodhead, you get a quality bruiser and a great back for passing downs.

why would you think that i want to skim money at QB? i would spend the extra money i saved at the RB spot on QB or pass rushers.

Peterson can block AND catch but I don't think he would used as a 3rd down back anyway so it's not as pressing.

I guarantee you someone will give him $5 a year...he's asking for $8 that's the problem.

I think he will land...

1. Packers
2. Raiders
3. Patriots
4. Giants

5. Cowboys

peterson is well below average in both blocking and catching. he consistently ranks among the worst in the nfl in blocking according to PFF, and despite barely ever getting targeted he still only catches ~70% of the balls that are thrown at him. for comparison, guys like danny woodhead catch around ~80-90% of their targets on much higher volume. when peterson does catch the ball he doesnt do much with it, cause he only has 5 total rec TDs in his entire career (david johnson had 4 rec TDs just last year and 8 total in his 2 years of NFL).

i dont doubt that theres a possibility that someone will give him $5m, i am just saying that i wouldnt. there is no way in hell that the patriots give him $5m.

If he sucks running out of shot gun, can't block, can't catch...... all he's good at (historically great) is running with a full back with QB under center..........this hampers his GOAT status.

Yes

He didn't play last year

Year before he led the NFL in rushing, an AllPro

Year before that he was suspended

So of the one year he played recently he was great...

Have you watched him last couple years?

Adrian Peterson was injured last year, therefore he is no longer good enough to play in the NFL

Is that what I'm supposed to think?

No, he has only played 16 games the last 3 years

He can't be effective our of the shotgun, he can't block, he can't catch

That's what you're supposed to say

He's not a 3rd down back.

Someone is going to give him $5-6m a year, he's going to be a top-10 RB next year regardless of what team/line he's playing on. Maybe top-5. Probably a ProBowler. It will have been worth the contract.

You guys will still pretend I don't know football afterward...that's business per usual around here.

if any teams believed this he would already be signed. unless i am forgetting something, the only team that has even invited him for a visit so far is the seahawks
