Default Could LeBron beat a Jordan-led team with great talent around him?

I'm sorry, but I'm becoming more and more convicted in my beliefs that LeBron is the best overall player I've ever seen. Maybe he's currently not as poilished as a prime Jordan was, but I have no doubt once he refines his game with age and experience, it will become obvious he's the best basketball player ever.

But I'm not here to talk about that. What I am saying is if you surround LeBron with the type of talent all the teams had that Jordan faced in the Finals, I think him and Joradan ATLEAST splits those 6 championships.

LeBron's that good.

Think about it--- Portland, LAL, Seattle, Utah, and Phoenix.

Imagine what LeBron would do with that type of talent? I mean really, is it LeBron's fault he doesn't have a Pippen or Phil Jackson on his bench?

Hell, no. So why should LeBron be cast aside in discussions about who is better between him and Jordan just cause he doesn't have six rings? He doesn't have the talent Jordan had either...is anyone penalizing Jordan? Of course not.

So what should you do in place of that? The only fair answer I have is to imagine what LeBron would do with the equal talent Jordan had playing along side him. Replace Payton with LeBron and how does that change the series? Kevin Johnson? Stockton? Drexler? Worthy?

If you did this, would Jordan still have six rings? Of course not. So this really provides some balance and perspective when people automatically dismiss anything someone does in comparison to Jordan.

...btw, this thread premise is more than worthy because:

A) people dismiss any accomplishment a player achieves when compared to Jordan, even if Jordan never did it himself.

B) people think Jordan was Superman in a basketball jersey, and he somehow won 6 rings by himself. Which is of course not the issue.

C) LeBron has proven he can lead a mediocre bunch as far as a mediocre bunch can be lead. Jordan never did what LeBron did last postseason. Jordan always lost to the team he was supposed to. Not until Pippen flourished did the Bulls team as a whole come together in '91 did they go anywhere.

Basically, this is a fair question. Now drop some thoughts.

No it's not too early. He got to the Finals last year at 22 with a bunch of bums.

It's not too early. Imagine what he would do with that Suns or Sonic team Jordan faced in the Finals.

I say Port, Sea, and Pho win 4-2 with only the Utah and LA series up for debate.

His path to the finals was arguably the easiest in the history of the league.
Let's not bring that up.

Bron replacing Magic = Lakers do NOT get better
Bron replacing Drexler = Portland gets better
Bron replacing Chuck = Suns do NOT get better
Bron replacing Payton = Sonics do NOT get better
Bron replacing Karl = Jazz do NOT get better.

so that's maybe 1 ring, but MJ was insane against Portland in the finals.

Cant wait until Loki sees this one. And if you mean current Lebron there is no way in hell. Its not even close and since we have no way to know how \Lebrons game will develop there is no reason to use a made up version of Bron vs. MJ.

Lebron will become as good as jordan was but i dont think he will have as much success with this current team... it is a 1 man team jordan had a good team built arround him...Yet when Lb is good as Mj was noone will admit it because they will be in denial

but, i still believe that if you replace MJ, Bulls could still win 6 rings or more.
That's the reality of the life: 70% talents + 30% chances. even a great player needs some good players around....

Bron replacing Karl = Jazz do NOT get worse.

i like the '92 Blazers with Lebron instead of Drexler.

but I'd say no, too unexperienced.

92 Jordan> 08 bron.
