That answers my question on Gallo. Like I said, AR comes back and Gallo gets to sit more...He can deny it but the trade talk is affecting him. He needs to grow up. Fields is playing better than Gallo right now and does more to contribute.

MESSAGE....
Supposedly your best shooter, Gallo, is on the bench with us needing threes?
MESSAGE........
Gallo are you listening..
I want to see if D'Antoni has real balls and sits Gallo for Chandler for the next game...
MESSAGE...

Game lost on rebounding and free throws. We only shot 66% from the line...Rondo killed us with dribble penetration (see last game)
STAT is for real and looks to be up to the challenge of trying top lead this team...

Which is kinda why I don't see why some are on Gallo's sack.

I like him, but he needs to realize that this is a business and he can get traded.

The bad part is he isn't doing anything else on the court.

I'm surprised that D'antoni didn't play him, since that is his boy.

I think even D'antoni is finally getting it.

Only guys who are producing will play.

Does Gallo deserve to start? Nope.

But D'atoni is showing so far, starting means nothing.

You can come out early and stay glue to the bench like Gallo.

He said it well in the press conference.

Praised Landry, Stat, Felton, and the other guys who played well off the bench, especially Chandler.

We will see. If all he does is want to shoot and add do nothing else, give me AR.
I like the fact that he is a good shooter but he needs to do other things to get time on the court. I like how D'Antoni essentially said that those who produce will play. Right now, Fields, Will, STAT, Felton, Rony and TD are getting it done it some form or fashion. We need someone to step up to pull the double and triple teams away from STAT.

Didn't I tell ya'll you were going to like Landry Fields? For his second game as a rookie, he's doing well. I didn't see the game, but simply looking at his stats, I'm happy.

That's why Gallo starts the game. To score and keep an honest defense on Amar'e.

But if he isn't making his 3's, I would say shots, but all he does is shoot 3's now, he needs to sit and let the guys that are producing play.

But placing Chandler in the starting line-up and Gallo on the bench makes the bench very weak.

Besides this is working. we lost to an NBA finals rep.

What I like is that our guys will not quit.

I know I was one to go out and support D'atoni for putting Chandler in the sixth man role.

It's a good fit, as long as Chandler is Challenged to do it.

Also Fields, he does quite a bit of everything.

He is a hard worker also and has earned his minutes.

Whether he starts or not is not an issue.

What is an issue is no one should get over 20 minutes if they are not producing, and I don't just mean points.

Landry Fields was our leading rebounder as our shooting guard.

That's our biggest weakness, and Fields is doing his job in that area.

No starter should have less than 4 boards, and that does include Felton.

This would be my rebounding goals per position.

C 8-10
PF 8-10
SF 6-8
SG 4-6
PG 4-6

And yes, these are my defensive rebound expectations.

They don't include offensive boards.

Felton played 37 minutes and got one board?

I don't care if he is the point.

Long rebounds come your way too, and get ur nose in there and get a couple down in the paint.

They met the goals in their first game against the Raptors.

Gotta do it every game.

Exceeding the expectations so far, but not doing anything an legit NBA should.

He is doing his part to help the team win.

If all can give that same effort, we will surprise some teams who may take us lightly.

^^^^Agreed. All good points made in your posts above. Not scintillating in the words of Clyde but effective for a 2nd rd Rook. Especially the fact that they don't run any plays for him so all of his points are hustle points. I am interested to see how Gallo responds.

Hes playing pretty well so far. I was a little upset when he was drafted because I thought we could've signed him as a UFA since he wasn't projected to be pick. Not surprising he was NBA ready after college.

My only concern is his upside. Is he a productive bench player or is he a potential star? I still think we should've went with a high upside guy with 1 of those picks like Lance Stephenson.

We saw glimpses of that in Summer League. This guy will last awhile in the NBA, he kinda reminds me of Shane Battier as a NBA player.

He will get his points going unnoticed, but he'll do the little things we need to win. I like his effort and attitude. Hope we signed him for 3 years so we dont lose him a la Wes Matthews in Utah.

I don't know about that.

Both guys had decent college careers. And they both are similar players.

We got good players with those picks.

Wouldn't change it at all.

Upside isn't going to be what happens to them.

It will be development.

Can't make room for Andy just yet. The players are all giving equal effort.

I think that attitude scared them off with Lance. Big guard ala T-Evans from Sac. Rautins was interesting to me but I see that they are looking for outside shooting and he can play point as well as playing at a top flight program in college for four years. Fields was shocking since he was on no one's draft boards but you can see he does have talent, desire and a good b-ball IQ. It's only two games but he can get better...

But how much can Landry improve? Thats usually the knock on 4 year college guys that aren't already Elite talents.

I'd love for him to be a 10/6/2 type of guy right out of the gate as a rookie.

But the upside factor usually is more for guys who have certain special talents already but just haven't put it all together.

He seems like he is what he is going to be, but will just get much smarter on offense & defense.

Hes a Stanford guy. Hes probably already smarter than a lot of our guys.

Not too sure about Andy.

I wish he had to get minutes because of how good he shoots.

I liked him in college, he was always a guy you could expect to drain 3's to keep Cuse in the game.

I think so too.

Im enamored by this kid. I thought he would've been worth the risk with a 2nd round pick in hopes we get a Gilbert/Monta situation with him turning into a star in a few years.
