Didn't see he hit .332 this year. Lineup just got a lot better, and the defense is light years beyond Guillen.

Renteria is overrated based on last year (career year) but that's a solid deal nonetheless for the Tigers. I'm just glad someone else traded for him before moron Ricciardi gave up Burnett, McGowan or Marcum for him.

Great trade for the Braves too. They clear up more money for a possible upcoming Teixeira contract and lose a player that they didn't need at all.

Lifetime .290, so we'll see, for defense alone I'm happy. Him and Polanco up the middle will be sweet. For a 7-9 hitter I'll take .290

Granderson
Polanco
Guillen
Maggs
Sheff
Pudge
Renteria
Inge
Thames/Maybin

Yea I'm not saying he sucks or anything. He likely won't come anything to what he did last year but he is definitely worth what the Tigers gave up for him. The Tigers are already a built contender. They needed minor tweaking like this rather than giant moves.

They really just need to stay healthy. And I'm sad to see Jair go, but there really just isn't a lot of room for him to crack the rotation.

Jair Jurrjens and Gorky's Hernandez are both solid prospects.

I guess that's a pretty good pick up for the Tigers.

I can't picture A-Rod going to the Giants. Don't think he would like to hit in that ballpark. Can't see him going to the Cubs, either. Their ownership situation is up in the air and that will be their focus? Sox seem more likely, but Theo doesn't have a history of signing guys in their 30's to long term contracts. Personally, I think it's going to be the Angels, because they need someone to protect Vlad in the worst way, and SoCal is a big market.
