ok why are the suns considering Michael Olowakandi? apparently its still a long shot for him to sign but i really dont know about this one.
Thoughts please.
Not really liking this at all either. I really doubt that the Suns sign him. He doesn't really fit their style of play. The Suns need quick, athletic big men who can run, which is why Steven Hunter worked here, and he's someone I'd rather have back instead of going out and signing the Kandi Man. His size wouldn't hurt in the playoffs, and I guess he's good for 6 fouls, but other than that, there is no real need for him here.
Other than the BS, the only thing I remember from Olowokandi was the sick dunk that STAT had on him when Kandi ass was a Clipper. I don't know why the Suns are wasting their time with this clown. I guess if the Suns want to play a slower paced game, maybe Kandi might help maybe a little at best. This guys a joker. If anyone is excited about it, they don't know basketball at all.
you're gonna be paying this guy like $800,000. The guy's a good athlete but his problem is just that he's lazy. If you remember correctly, Tim Thomas has the same label when he joined the suns. I think the whole experience of being unwanted and not having any contract can change a guy and make him work harder. I would take a gamble on a 7 footer and especially in the west. If you can get a good solid 10-15 mins of solid relieve for the starter, I think its worth it. Plus, you only have Kurt Thomas as a backup center and then nothing else. Why not throw a bone at the guy?

Yeah i agree, if we only pay him 1 mil then if he doesn't work we can waive him.
He obviously has some talent and will have to use it if he wants to stay in the league
The suns are brittle at best at the centre spot......
remember what we all thought of Boris this time last year.
Tim Thomas actually has talent. Olowokandi is a stiff. And also, Olowokandi is an idiot. He turned down an offer worth 60 million because he didn't get the type of contract Bibby got. Now he's looking for chump change(well, chump change by NBA standards at least, I'd be happy with 800 g's)
