i didnt think any team was dumb enough to pick him up after his season last yr with the lakers. Why smush? I woudlve picked up boykins if i were the heat
Riley was desperate for a point guard and panicked when we didn't get Steve Blake or Mo Williams. Not a smart move in my opinion but luckily he's in Riley's doghouse already, so he doesn't play much.
With Smush Parker's point guard play disappointing the Heat ( Pat Riley believes he's better at shooting guard), people inside the team are wondering if he will be traded when he becomes eligible Dec. 15.
Even at shooting guard, Parker (shooting 30 percent entering Tuesday) has limitations, with one NBA personnel director noting that even though he can shoot from long range and finish at the rim, he's hurt by his lack of an ''in-between game,'' which Parker admits.
the Lakers reached for Smush when they started him, but was nowhere NEAR being a quality starting PG in this league. At best, he's the third PG off of the bench.
Well, since the heat couldn't sign or trade for a good point guard, they didn't really have much of a choice. But with the out of basketball issues smush is facing, i doubt he will be playing anytime soon. I at first thought he could do good if he could knock down that open three. With wade and shaq taking the pressure off him, that's pretty much all he had to do. That and take care of the ball, as well as play defense. But in the games he's played, he hasn't been able to knock down shots, and he hasn't been reliable witht he ball. He isn't even considered a point guard anymore. Chris Quinn has outplayed him. Smush has been a dissapointment so far.
